Tillie wore her Gap Valentine dress from last year today. I bought it in size 2 because I thought she had enough 18-24m clothes. Ha! I'm sure she has more 2t now. Oh well, it's wasn't too big then and it fits great now. She's wearing it with Gap tights from a garage sale, Circo ruby slippers and a crewcuts cardigan. I probably should have saved this outfit for the 14th; she just looks like a picture perfect valentine! But, since it wore it last year on Valentine's day I thought we'd do something else then.

Teddy is wearing a Gap Little Red fleece one-piece. It's size 3-6 month, but he wore it a few times around Christmas too.

The Hope-Calvin game is going on right now. We're only watching on WGVU, but I still dressed Teddy in a Calvin bodysuit I bought at a garage sale last summer. I layered it over a Carter's bodysuit. He's also wearing Gap jeans.

This is quite possibly the girliest outfit Tillie has ever worn. I bought the shirt for a few dollars in December when Gap had a $5 promo code floating around. Right after Christmas I found the matching leggings for 50% off the sale price. They're both size 3t, but they're a smallish 3t. I had planned on putting a denim skirt with it, but Tillie asked for "white pincess skirt" this morning. Cherokee tutu skirt it is! I gave her the option of pink sparkle shoes or Fuggs. She chose Fuggs.

Tillie insisted that we take pictures outside with babydoll and her stroller this morning. I decided to just go with it. I'm guessing she craved the vitamin D. She's wearing a Lands' End dress, Gymboree tights and pink sparkle Circo shoes. She asked for the pigtails, too.

I found more red items for Teddy to wear in Reuben's hand-me-downs. This Carter's fleece jacket has matching fleece pants, but I paired it with his Genuine Kids overalls and a gray and white Carter's bodysuit instead today.

If you were a reader last year you may remember that Tillie wore red and/or pink every day the week before February 14. We're at it again! Teddy will probably not participate everyday because he doesn't have enough of the right colors.

Tillie actually picked out all of her outfit today except for the tights. She's wearing an Old Navy tee and denim mini, Gap tights and Circo shoes. Teddy's wearing a Carter's bodysuit, Gap jeans and TrumpetteToo socks.

Tillie has been obsessed with wearing tutu skirts lately. She asks to wear on most mornings. Usually I can convince her to wear something else, but sometimes it's not worth it. Her favorite one is this cream Cherokee skirt. We paired it with a light blue floral Ralph Lauren tee I got at a garage sale last summer.

I got a lot of pictures of her at the Gardens, but no good ones of her outfit.

Birthday Party

For my brother Matthew's birthday lunch Teddy wore a Janie and Jack Winter Walrus shirt I got at a consignment store(50% off!) and Gap khaki cords. The shirt is size 0-6 months. I think that's such a bizzare size. What item will fit a baby from newborn to 6 months? It's still a little big on him.

I put Tillie in a dress that was mine as a little girl before lunch just to take her picture. She didn't want to take it off before we went to my brothers' house. "Grandma will LUB it." Sizes used to be a lot more inaccurate. This dress is a 4 and is SUPER-short.

Teddy was baptized this morning! He wore an Angel Dear sweater one-piece my mom got him when we were shopping at Tip Toes before Thanksgiving. The bib is by His GEM. Tillie had the pink one. Just like at Tillie's baptism, I didn't get a good picture of his outfit. I know, it doesn't make any sense that the clothing blogger didn't get pictures of her children's baptism outfits.

Tillie wore a crewcuts jumper, Carter's bodysuit(24m!), Gymboree socks and Crazy 8 shoes.

I looked all over for cream tights for her. Apparently this is a hard cream to match. I found a pair at Target that was perfect, but they didn't have her size. I even checked two Targets last night! As it turns out, I really like these Gymboree socks with it. It's just a little more unexpected, especially in pink. The bows on the back are too cute.

It's another cool snowy day. Tillie wanted to wear this Mini-Boden "coffee" tee. I wasn't in a cardigan mood, so I layered and Old Navy tee under it. The Old Navy cord skirt was from the lot I bought on craigslist. She wore her Morgan and Milos when we went out, but insisted on the Hush Puppies slippers at home. She loves these things and asks to wear them whenever we go out. I let her wear them to Target once last week.

Snow Day

First real snow fall of the year and it's a snow day for Tim! While he was snow blowing the driveway I got the kids all suited up in their snow gear.

Tillie is wear a Gap Warmest Coat from last year. I bought a 3t so she could wear it for 2 years. I had tried the 2t on her last year and it wasn't ridiculous, so I thought it would work out. It was about $22 on clearance. Not too bad for a down coat she'll wear for a while. The snowpants are Circo and I got them on clearance for $6.50. The Carter's boots were a hand-me-down from her cousin. The mittens are Gap Aviator. The hat is from Old Navy this year. I know I got them on sale, I just don't remember how much -- it wasn't too long after Teddy was born. Sleep deprivation...

I bought Teddy's fleece outfit last year too. It's from Gap's Sun Valley line. I figured brown would work for boy or girl and it was just so cozy! His hat is from Old Navy. It matches Tillie.

When I pulled this Georgia Grace top out of Tillie's closet I kind of thought it would be too small and I was planning on putting it away in the 2t bin. Tillie saw it and insisted on wearing it. I knew the matching ruffle pants would be too short for winter, so I paired it with her crewcuts jeans. There was still room to layer a Cherokee tee under it, so I think she'll be able to wear it again this summer without anything under it.

I love these overall. As I was pulling Teddy's clothes today I realized he's never rocked the simple white shirt with denim overalls look. It's a classic for a reason.

I thought it was going to be colder than it was today, so I added a cute little Gap cardigan before we ran errands. I bought it at a consignment sale when Tillie was around 11 months old. It was too cute to leave there for $1, even if I didn't have a baby to dress at that time.

Also, these pants aren't too short. They're just bunch up from sitting.

Tillie is wearing a Tea Collection dress I got on clearance at Tip Toes in Holland. The Hush Puppies boots were from a tent sale in Rockford. The dress is a 3, so she'll wear it more next fall. I just wanted to try it out with the boots now. I liked the idea of this outfit better than how it looks in real life. The bows on the boots are a perfect match to the collar and waist, but they look a little more 'biker' than I expected. Oh well, they were cheap!

I bought this Chaps outfit for Teddy shortly after he was born. There were rare stacking coupon codes on Kohls.com. It was super-cheap and darling. Tiny shawl collar? Nautical buttons? Perfect. I love navy in January. I didn't have time to take a picture before we left home, so I used Tim's iPhone at church. (See how he's almost folding his hands?) Y'all are so lucky I don't have an iPhone. You'd be so sick of me posting instagram photos.

We ran a few errands this morning, but it will mostly be a stay-at-home day today. (At least that's the current plan!)

Teddy is wearing a Zutano outfit I bought at a garage sale this summer for about $2 or so. It's a 0-6month size, but it fits pretty well. If I were cloth diapering him already the pants would be a great fit over them. Patterned pants and a solid top? Not a look I could pull off. It looks super-cute on our little Tedster though!

Tillie is also rocking some stripes today. This Hanna Andersson dress is from Costco last year. I correctly predicted that a 2.5-3 year old would be in love with the colors and twirl of this dress. "Mama! It's a rainbow 'pincess' dress!"

Teddy is wearing a Gymboree Fire Truck Chief shawl-collared sweater, white Carter's bodysuit, Gap khaki cords and black TrumpetteToo socks. The sweater is size 3-6 months and is a little too big. I got it at a Red Balloon Sale just after he was born. The socks were bought on clearance last year, the bodysuit is a hand-me-down from Tillie and the cords are from a garage sale for $1.

I almost forgot about this jumper! I got it for 50¢ at a garage sale this spring. There is no brand in the tag, but it does say it's a 2 piece set. This is the only piece I have. I layered a Cherokee tee under it and these Hanna Andersson leggings are a pretty good match to the green trees. She orginally had a lime colored bow in her hair too, but that was long since put away today. She added the necklace, and the colors are actually a perfect match! When we went out today she wore her Morgan and Milo cocoa mary janes.

It's kind of nice to see her in a color other than red for a change.

My friend Laura asked to borrow Tillie's Hanna Andersson sweater dress from last Christmas to see if it would fit for some family pictures they were having. It didn't work out, so she bought it back to me last week. When I got it back I looked at it, looked at Tillie and thought maybe it would still fit her. It did! I don't think the tights would fit and it's a little short, but it's darling over denim. I'll post it on here when I get a good picture of her wearing it.

Since that dress still fit, I decided to pull out her striped playdress to see how it looked on. This one shows its size a little more, but I don't think it's too small to wear. The sleeves and skirt are a little short and I think if we were going out I'd put black leggings and boots with it. Still, it's a comfy outfit that she loves. I love getting more wears out of a cute outfit!

Earlier this week when she was wearing a striped outfit I told her, "Stripes like a zebra!" She replied, "No! A tiger!" So, today when I dressed her I said, "Stripes like a tiger!" I didn't expect her to say, "No! A stripe princess dress!"

I bought Teddy this Gap outfit at a garage sale thinking the 0-3m would be perfect for this fall. It's still a little big, but finally looks okay on him(especially in this picture. I promise it's actually a little big). Teddy's growing a lot faster than Tillie did, at least he looks healthier, but newborn clothes(non-one-piece) still fit him best at 7 weeks. I'm baffled by people who say you don't need newborn clothes at all because they get worn for a few days before they're outgrown. I'm eager to find out what he weighs at his doctor's appointment on the 5th.

Luckily, I only paid 75¢ for it. I'd feel weird putting this on him after Thanksgiving. Yes, I know I have weird clothing rules.

We have a tradition over here where you wear a reindeer on the first day of snow of the year. Dorky? Yes! But, I love it. I didn't expect it to snow so much yesterday, so we made it a "first day you wake up with snow on the ground" reindeer sweater day, which is today!

A Leaf Bouquet

Today Tillie is wearing a Hanna Andersson playdress I got at a garage sale for 50¢. There were no coordinating leggings, but I couldn't let it go at that price. I figured we would just wear it with white tights or socks. Then when I was looking for a matching pair in Tillie's sock drawer I came across her Lands' End knee highs. This pair has orange and pink flowers that aren't too bad as a match.

I think it gives the playdress more of a schoolgirl look, which is perfect with the crayon hair clip Tillie picked out today.

Baby Blue

Well, it's official. Both of my kids look good in baby blue. Teddy is wearing a Gymboree Brand New Baby crocodile tee and pants today. The tee is short-sleeved so I added his hoodie from another Brand New Baby line. (The newborn layette at Gymboree is always called Brand New Baby.) The socks are from Gap and actually stay on now that his feet are a little bigger.

Sandals in November

Overalls

I love overalls on little kids. While sorting through buckets I found that Teddy has at least 2 pairs in each size up to 12m. I pick them up when I find them cheap at garage sales and forget about them. You really can't have too many overalls, so it's not a problem for me! I got these Gap ones for $1 or so. They're lined which makes them great for a newborn. They're also from 2001 so they've been washed a lot which makes them even softer. He's wearing them with a Carter's bodysuit. (The green happens to be a perfect match for Tillie's Mini-Boden dress, which she is wearing today.)

I found this Gymboree Baby Lizard plaid button down for $3 last week. I thought with a Carter's bodysuit it would be great for church this fall. I also found the Gymboree Tiny Copter cargo cords for $3. They actually don't match at all, but somehow the green looks good with the brown/red/blue plaid.

He kind of looked like a little lumberjack, especially when I put his hat on.

Bunny(Puppy?) Ears

I asked my mom if this Gymboree Brand New Baby hoodie was too girly and she said no. When I showed it to Tillie this morning she gave me the side eye and said no. Apparently big sis is already looking out for her little brother and trying to keep him cool.

I don't care, I think it's freakin' adorable! He's wearing it with his Gap Water Garden bodysuit and Gap Greenwich sweater pants. I like that I was able to get a few more wears out of the short sleeved bodysuit by layering over it. It's my favorite clothing item we have in newborn size and I was sad he wouldn't get to wear it anymore. You wouldn't believe how hard it is to find a newborn sized jacket or cardigan. I really wanted a cream cardigan, but they don't exist for newborn boys apparently.

Yes, the Disney channel has finally started the "princess brainwashing" on my daughter. When I pulled out her two Circo Halloween tees to let her choose which one to wear she emphatically chose princess. In fact, she made me put her on her last night, 30 minutes before bedtime. I bought the tees last year after Halloween for $1 each.

She's wearing it with a "velvet" Cherokee skirt that I got for $2 a long time ago. It's size 18-24m, but it's HUGE! I'm pretty sure it will still fit her next year. The black shoes are from Crazy 8.

Also, this new camera I have seems to take crappy pictures indoors. I'm sorry. It's going to be a long winter of slightly blurry pictures for you all. I swear it's not me, but with the amount of sleep I've been getting lately maybe it is...

Collars for Church

Tillie has always worn woven(or sweater) dresses for church. For Teddy, he'll mostly likely always have a collar(or a sweater).

This First Impressions collared one-piece is still too big, but with the sleeves and legs rolled it's not too bad. It's the only collared item he owns in a size that might possible fit him, plus it kind of matched Tillie's outfit today. It has a screen print of a silver robot on it.

I bought this Gap Sun Valley bodysuit when I was pregnant, just in case I had a boy. (I did do this with girl things too, just not as much because I might have quite a collection of girl clothes already.) It was super-cheap and I love the layered bodysuit look. It's 0-3 months, so it should fit him for a while. It's too big now, but not too big that he can't wear it. The Gap Greenwich sweater pants are newborn, so they fit him great. But, with the different sizes he kind of looks like he's wearing a tunic with leggings. Eh, he's a baby. I promise I won't make him wear this kind of look when he's older! At least he was warm tonight.

Oh, and his socks from The Children's Place look kind of dorky too. Sorry, Teddy.

Family Fun Night

Tonight we went to Tim's school for Family Fun night. Tillie was very unhappy about it, until we went outside. She's wearing a Mini-Boden tee from the lot I bought on Craigslist with crewcuts jeans. This top has some (subtle) glitter glue on it and dingy cuffs. Nothing to make it unwearable, but perfect for an outing where she'll probably get dirty. Oh, how about the fact that when I went to put it on him I notice that the pants are size 3m, while the bodysuit is newborn. So, the pants are huge. I put them on him anyway. We're kind of lacking in newborn pants, but I'm banking on him growing faster than Tillie so I don't want to buy any.

I got the hat at a garage sale. It's too small for him already. I guess Tillie will get it for her Bitty Baby!

Have you gotten sick of seeing Teddy in outfits that are too big for him? Here's another! This is a 0-3 outfit from Carter's. It nice and cozy, but after I put the vest on him I realized it might be a suffocation hazard while he's in his car seat, so he didn't wear that part when we went out today. Hopefully it fits better in another month or so and he can actually wear it! I love the blue/green color combo on this outfit. His socks are from the Gymboree Brand New Baby 5-pack I have, but a new color he hasn't worn before!

Sweater Weather

It's a chilly rainy day over here. We had a few returns I wanted to get done, so I dressed both kids in warm outfits. Tillie is wearing a Gymboree Super Star cardigan my mom got at a garage sale, a pink Cherokee tee and Gap jeans I got at a garage sale. These jeans are a 3t, but they are also able to button up into cropped pants. Hooray for jeans that she can still wear when they actually fit her waist!

I just realized today that Tillie better start wearing her Halloween themed items. This outfit could be worn until Thanksgiving though. The top is from Gymboree's Halloween Harvest line and the leggings are from the Fall for Monkeys line. The skirt, which is still too big, is crewcuts. When I pulled the skirt out this morning she said, "Princess skirt!" The Disney channel has been talking about costumes a lot. And now the princessy things begin...

I tried to get Teddy a pumpkin tee from Gymboree this year, but I could only find 3-6m in the stores. So, he'll just have to deal with only a sleep n play from Carter's.

Flu Shot Day

Teddy had a 2 week check up today, so I scheduled a flu shot for Tillie. I had her wear a dress with knee socks so I wouldn't have to undress her at all to get the shot. She's wearing a Mini-Boden dress(from the lot I bought on craigslist) and knee socks from The Children's Place. Her boots are Hush Puppies from the outlet in Rockford.

Again, she was not in a posing mood today. Yes, she is holding my flip-flop.

Still Too Big

Most of Teddy's clothes are still too big for him. It just hangs at his neck. Little guy needs to grow because I kind of really hate too big clothes on kids. This is a 0-3 Gap Greenwich one-piece. When I was pregnant with Tillie I found these Gymboree Autumn Forest pants for super-cheap when I was in Chicago. They didn't have a matching shirt, but I couldn't resist something so cute and tiny. I appliqued a Gerber onesie with a little mushroom to match them. This was the second applique that I did and I'm never making one on such a small shirt again! It was pretty hard to fit the sewing machine.

You may think I took a week off from blogging here because I just had a baby. But no, it's just been 80* for the last week and Tillie's worn summer clothes that have already been featured on the blog. Today it's a high of 75*, so I went with jeans just so I could put something "new" on her.
