Sometimes a substitute has to do.

Two weeks ago when I went to Tip Toes with my mom and Tillie I fell in love with a tiered ruffle dress by Hartstrings.

I have a love of all things nautical.  Navy and white top that list.  Some might think it's because I went to a high school where the mascot was a Sailor and I was a cheerleader.  But, my mom dressed me in sailor dresses when I was small.  I've always been drawn to it.

While I did pick this dress up to admire it, it didn't come home with me because it has a $48 price tag.  Today I was looking through the sale racks (Okay, boxes.  I know I hate the box sale at Express.  Somehow it's okay at Gymboree and Crazy 8.) at Crazy 8 I found this dress.

Is it as cute?  Not at all.  But, it will fulfill my need of navy and polka dots.  Plus, at one-tenth the price the other dress it will have to do.

Now I won't feel bad when Tillie wears it while rolling on the ground at the Gardens, because that will definitely happen.

I love the Hartstrings one! I might have to see if I can figure out how to make something similar.

I bought Dorothy a little Janie & Jack nautical outfit today. So cute!
