Rosy Gingham

Today Bea is wearing a Genuine Kids dress that was a baby gift when Tillie was born from my cousin Renee.  It looks just as cute on Bea!

An Old Pro

You can tell Ted's been doing this whole "take a picture of your outfit" his whole life.  When I told him I needed a picture he started complaining, but then ran to the tree and started posing.  He's wearing a Children's Place tee from Goodwille, H&M layering tee, Genuine Kids skinny jeans and brown Converse(garage sale).

Bea is wearing a Gap Hamptons Garden terry sweatshirt and knit leggings.  The sweatshirt is actually from the boy side of Gap, but I think my girl can rock navy.  The Carter's newborn socks are a near perfect match!  I made the clippie when Tillie was little.

Outside

It became dreary, but this morning was lovely outside.  Teddy wore a striped Gap pocket tee(2006 -- garage sale or Goodwill), Genuine Kids skinny jeans and firefighter boots(from a friend).  He wears the boots any chance he can.

Pink and Green

Today's agenda was my doctor's appointment, Nantucket Bakery and Yesterdog with my mom and Kiz.  I think Til and Ted were happy they got to stay in the waiting room instead of coming back with me to the exam room.

Teddy is wearing a Ruum polo from Goodwill.  Ruum was 77Kids, the American Eagle kids brand until it was sold a year or so ago.  He's also wearing Genuine Kids skinny jeans and navy TOMS.  Tillie is wearing the pink Valentine's flutter I made her.  By adding the green Dreamspun leggings and necklace I think it pulls out the green in the heart fabric on the dress making it more springy.  Maybe you still think it looks like a Valentine's outfit, but since I spend a lot of time making this dress(3 years ago...) I want her to wear it more.  And, she likes it.  She did wear a cardigan when we were outside/in the car, but she took it off immediately
upon arriving inside a building.

Tillie thought it was so funny that there was only a "tiny baby snow" left this morning.  It's all melted now though!  (In that pile.  There's still snow in other parts of our yard.)

More Short Sleeves

It was still below freezing this morning, but since it's warming up to 50* we just wore warm coats on the way into school.  And look!  The snow is melting!

Tillie's wearing a crewcuts floral tee with H&M jeans.  Ted is wearing a crewcuts "To the Moon and Back" tee and Genuine Kids skinny jeans.  These were his best jeans -- they actually fit and didn't have any holes -- until he fell three times walking back to the car after picking Tillie up.  Boo.  Oddly enough, I had a new pair of "skinny" jeans arrive from Gap for him today.  They're 18-24m and are pretty big and fit more like straight leg jeans on him.  *sigh*  I got a sweet deal on them though, so we'll keep them.

Plaid

Ever since Beach Day, Tillie and Teddy have been digging in their summer clothes for things to wear.  I guess they're anxious for warm weather like everyone else!  I vetoed the matching turtle shorts, but I did let him wear this Gymboree Turtle-y Cute button-up over an H&M tee and Genuine Kids skinny jeans.  His brown Converse are from a garage sale a year ago.

Also, this is my almost 2.5 year old wearing all 18-24m and they fit wonderfully.  Here's hoping he gets to use his awesome 2t wardrobe this summer...

Happy Spring!

Even though Tim scraped ice off my windows this morning, it's officially Spring!  This morning we met some of my cousins at the Children's Museum.  My "Super Fast" Ted is wearing a crewcuts tee over an H&M layering tee, Geniune Kids skinny jeans and his red TOMS(that are *almost* too small at size 5.5).

Tillie is wearing a Matilda Jane Knot dress as a top.  It's a 2.  There are a lot of annoying things about a slim girl and clothing, but this is definitely a perk!  She was 16m when she wore it for the first time.  Today it's layered over a Next top(thrift store) with Gap skinny jeans and "red" mary jane TOMS.  I got them recently from Zulily, but I think they're more of a dark coral.  Pretty color, but not what I was expecting.  Her clip and necklace are Dreamspun.

Digging in the Spring Bins

I know we're still firmly in winter, but I just can't dress them in their fall/winter clothes everyday anymore.  Instead we found some Spring things we could "winterize" for today.

Teddy's wearing a crewcuts tee with cars on it.  He says they're race cars like Lightning McQueen, so it wasn't too hard to get him dressed this morning.  I layered it over a navy crewcuts long sleeved tee.  His jeans are Genuine Kids and his shoes are Vans.

I let Tillie pick this morning and she wanted a dress, long sleeves with pants.  This Matilda Jane Stargazer Dress as a tunic and chambray ruffle pants fit her specifics.  The ivory tissue tee is crewcuts and her shoes are TOMS.  (She does wear snow boots too school, so she didn't have bare feet outside at all.)  She requested a side view photo so you could see her crown braid and pigtails.

Errands Day

Today we had a full agenda: doctor's appointment, mall, eye doctor, Family Fare, dance class and dinner out.  Yes, I am exhausted at the end of this day.

Ted is wearing a crewcuts hooded pull-over, Genuine Kid skinny jeans and checkered Vans.  (Shoes that he is apparently incapable of walking in on carpet.  He fell a bajillion times at the doctor's office...)

Tillie is wearing a crewcuts "9" shirt, Gap jeans, Gymboree knee highs and Cherokee boots.  I liked this outfit in theory, but something is "off" on it.  She told me she's going to wear this shirt on her birthday when she turns 9, but I suspect(hope!) that a size 4-5 shirt will be too small.

I don't think I've shared Tillie's dance clothes before.  It was all a Christmas gift and the leotard, tights, skirt and shoes are all Bloch.  Since it was the "performance" day, we added a crown braid and a big DreamSpun bow.  Her bun doughnut is from H&M.

And, if you want to watch a 1 1/2 minute dance performance by 3&4 year olds, I have a video for you!  I'll let you guess which girl Tillie said, "didn't listen" every week.

Desert Storytime

Tillie wanted to go to the last storytime at the Gardens today.  The theme was "desert" and the kids were to bring a toy snake or lizard.  We have a lot of toy animals, but only one lizard that fit the bill.  We decided Ted should wear his new Mini-Boden snake shirt(2-3, we'll get at least another year out of it) as our second item.  Teddy wants to wear it at Camp this summer.  I bought it recently from the clearance section using a voucher I bought from Rue La La last fall.  (I ended up getting 5 items for $25.80 out of pocket - 4 tees and a dress.  I was more than happy with that for Boden!)  He's wearing his Genuine Kids skinny jeans and Livie & Luca boots.

Sun! And Above Freezing!

We got a load of heavy wet snow last night which pushed us over the 100" of snow for this winter!  Snow day for Tim, but now the sun is out and it's actually above freezing.  We couldn't resist this and quick jumped outside for an outfit picture with the snow.  Clearly the kids aren't used to this much sun anymore since they wouldn't look at the camera.

Tillie's wearing an old favorite of hers, the crewcuts ruffle dress with Gymboree knee highs and Circo Fuggs.  She also requested a crown braid, which we hadn't done in a while.  I had enough energy today to do it!  Teddy's wearing a new H&M "stargyle"* cardigan I got for $3 last week.  It's a 1 1/2-2y, but runs generously.  Ted's wearing it with a white H&M tee(All his white tees are from H&M.  I really like them.), Genuine Kids skinny jeans and checkered Vans.

*Stargyle is so a thing.

Happy Valentine's Day!

My sweet prince is wearing a Gap Valentine's shirt I got at Once Upon a Child for a $1.  It's the outlet version, but it appears to be more like retail quality.  "Mama, dis my crown shirt!"  He's a fan.  He's wearing it with Genuine Kid skinny jeans and red TOMS(the perfect shoe for this week!).

Tillie's wearing a DreamSpun vintage 'I've got a majorette crush on you' valentine tee, crewcuts cardigan, Hanna Andersson skirt, Old Navy Tights and Circo sparkle shoes.  How's that for brand mixing?  I bought the tee during an end of season sale in December and the tights were from last year.  It's not my favorite of the outfits she wore this week(I think that goes to Tuesday.), but she loves it.

More Hearts and Stripes!

Today Tillie is wearing a Gap Northern Brights tunic(size 4-5) I got at Once Upon a Child during their sale.  She should easily be able to wear it next year as well.  We paired it with Costco Hanna Andersson Livable Leggings and pink mary jane TOMS.

Teddy's wearing a Gap Micro Fleece pullover with Genuine Kids skinny jeans.  He later wore TOMS on our errands.

"I no yike red TOMS.  I wear these shoes."

A Willing Model

Teddy was having nothing to do with pictures today.  He's wearing a Carter's layered-look polo(garage sale) with Genuine Kids skinny jeans.  His shoes are Converse and my cousin made his new hat! (Little Sweet Pea Crochet)

Layers

We went to an outdoor outlet mall a couple hours away today.  I wanted the kids to be warm so they had one less possible thing to complain about.

Teddy's wearing a Gap Holiday Wonderland knight sweater over a Ralph Lauren plaid shirt.  His jeans are Genuine Kids and he's wearing Old Navy boot socks with his red TOMS.  Most of the time he was also wearing his new knit newsboy camp my cousin made, but somehow that didn't make it in the picture.  With that, his blankie and the bunting bag on his stroller seat he was nice and cozy!

I was kind of jealous of Tillie's outfit.  She's wearing a Gap Copper Mountain fleece tunic(5t) with crewcuts jeggings.  She's wearing Gymboree knee highs AND BabyLegs with her dark brown Target Fuggs to stay nice and warm.  (She also wore her Gap Warmest Coat when we weren't loading/unloading from car seats.)

Snow Week

The theme at school this week has to do with snow, so we thought it appropriate to wear her crewcuts snowflake shirt.  She can't wear the Gap snowflake jeans to school since she can't do the button, so we paired it with a crewcuts cord skirt and Gymboree tulle leggings.  Tillie insisted on her snowflake TOMS as well.  I told her that after the bathroom break at school it was okay to leave her shirt untucked, but she figured out how to tuck it in.  I was kind of impressed.

My mom bought Teddy this Genuine Kids outfit at Target about a year ago.  I was with her and picked it out, but I'm not loving it on him as much as I thought I would.  Both pieces are 24m, but they're still HUGE on him.  The jeans, as it turns out, are girl jeans.  We did buy them off the boy rack, but later I noticed little birds on the rivets and flowers in the lining.  I wish they fit like his other Genuine Kids jeans!  Maybe when it's actually spring it will fit better.

Dreaming of Spring

I know it's the middle of January and spring is a looooong time away, but I was in the mood for some spring today.  We went to the Gardens after a doctor's appointment this morning, but they were doing a lot of cleaning, the sun wasn't out and there were a lot of photographers with tripods making trips through some rooms not possible.  I didn't really get my spring fix there.  C'est la vie!  At least we got there just a few minutes before story time started.

Tillie's wearing a Matilda Jane Bobbi Jo dress(2) as a tunic, crewcuts tissue tee Gap skinny jeans(5t), Circo Fuggs and a DreamSpun necklace and bow.  I'm not how I didn't realize how well this necklace she made during spring break matches this dress.  (Or maybe she has worn it together already and I just forgot.)

You've got to love a dress she's been wearing since before she was 2!

Red & Green and Reindeer

Teddy's wearing a Crazy 8 green plaid shirt (new with tags from the thrift store on half off day!) and a red cable knit Gap Outlet cardigan(Goodwill!) with his Genuine Kids jeans and red TOMS.  It's a great way to make a Christmas outfit out of things he already had in his closet.

Tillie's wearing a Crazy 8 reindeer jumper from last year.  It's no wonder I got this cheap after Christmas as it's a 3t and the arm holes are still rather generous on her.  Maybe I'll try it on her again next year as a tunic for fun.  Her tee is H&M and the leggings are Hanna Andersson.  She wore her Circo Fuggs for the picture, but decided to wear her snowflake TOMS to school instead.

Awesomesauce

I took 3 pictures this morning.  This one was the best.  In my defense, it was cold and we were nearly late for school.

Tillie's wearing a Deux Par Deux tunic and leggings set I got at the consignment sale this fall.  Looking at this picture this tunic is nearly too short to wear with leggings too.  Girlfriend's got long legs like mama.

Just Target

Tim and friends/family are re-roofing our back shop today.  I kind of wanted to go across town to Dreamspun, Village Kids and Nordstrom Rack, but then I realized it was Saturday and I was feeling lazy.  We drove 5 minutes to Target instead.  The kids are still wearing cute outfits to build with blocks at home.

Teddy's wearing a crewcuts sueded jersey half-zip over a gray Gap long sleeved polo.  His jeans are Genuine Kids and his TOMS are a nice pop of red.  Or "firetruck shoes" if you're Teddy.

Tillie's wearing the Matilda Jane Red Smart dress that she's worn a number of times before.  Today we tried it with a light blue Gymboree Cozy Cutie tee since there's some blue flowers in the bodice and the trim of the pockets.  I don't love it, but I do think it works.
