Cookie Taster

It's going to be a warm day, but it's cool for preschool this morning.  Tillie's wearing a Gap Playtime Favorites "Official Cookie Taster" tee, crewcuts bubble skirt, Morgan and Milo shoes and Gap eyelet ruffle socks.  I got the tee at Goodwill for a dollar!

Chilly Morning

It warmed up by the time I picked Tillie up from preschool, but at drop-off Tillie insisted she needed a scarf and a coat.  I think my sister made her the green scarf.  The polka-dot fleece lined raincoat is from Gap.  She had it size 2t as well.  This one is a 5.  My mom bought the Gymboree Sweet Treats dress during the 50% off sale prices + 20% off coupon sale last year.  I almost had her bring it back because I knew it would be too wide on Tillie, but it was less than $3 so my mom said to keep it for Preschool.  A few weeks later I found matching socks(that look like they've never been worn) for 50¢ at the thrift store.  I think the socks are a size too big, but the dress should fit for another year yet anyway.  These are her new pink sparkle Morgan & Milo Woodstocks.  I miss the tan ones she wore last year.  They just went with everything.  These pink ones are an odd shade of pink that don't seem to match most of the pinks Tillie has.  C'est la vie.

Since Tillie was wearing a coat Teddy insisted on it as well.  His is from last year(12-18m, still fits...) from Gap.  I think I bought it when I was pregnant with him.  He's also wearing Gap jeans from a consignment store, Peek button-up from Nordstrom Rack and red TOMS from Zulily.

Apraxia Awareness Day

Today is the first Apraxia Awareness Day.  My kids(and Tim and I!) are all sporting blue and white for our friends Nolan and Rylie.

Teddy is wearing a blue and white striped Old Navy tee with Old Navy overalls(Goodwill overalls!).  Both of these items are 18-24m.  I think he'll be wearing them for a while.

Tillie is wearing a blue and white striped Gap Cannes dress with a coral crewcuts cardigan.

Butterfly Week

I bought Tillie this Naartjie outfit at a garage sale a year ago.  I liked it, but I actually put it on my garage sale last year because I think sun dresses with leggings don't make much sense.  If it's warm enough for a sun dress it's too hot to add leggings.  When it didn't sell(I probably priced it too high because I did like it...) I put it back in Tillie's 4t bin.  Then came this week's preschool theme of Caterpillars and Butterflies.  I pulled it out and realized I could add an H&M layering tee under it.

Tillie declared this to be a Pinkalicious outfit.  I have to agree with her on that one.

El Mar

Preschool's theme this week is "the sea".  Tillie has a lot of nautical things from last year's crewcuts line that were perfect: Anchor tee, chambray skirt and cropped anchor leggings.  I would have had her wear sandals, but it's still a bit cool and I thought they might blister her at school since she hasn't worn any yet this year.

I thought Teddy needed in on this week's theme as well.  What do you know, but she even learned about "pulpo" today.  Teddy really likes this Gap octopus shirt(garage sale).  He's also wearing shark Robeez(garage sale) and Crazy 8 skinny jeans(thrift store).

Monster! Umbrellas!

Teddy's wearing a First Impressions monster shirt I got for 50¢ at the thrift store(half price day!)  A Gymboree Shark Alert short-sleeved button-up is layered underneath and he's wearing Gap jeans.

Tillie's wearing a knot dress I made for her 2 years ago.  It's finally fitting how I like knot dresses to fit.  She's also wearing a Cherokee polka dot layering tee and crewcuts denim leggings.

Dinosaurio

Every week of preschool has a theme.  This week is Dinosaur.  When I told Tillie that she said she wanted to wear a dino shirt.  Um, yeah.  Tillie's wardrobe doesn't feature many dinos.  She's never requested one before.  She then said, "Maybe Teddy has a dino shirt for me!"  I pulled out his 3t bin.  (Yeah, he has a few 3t shirts.  They're mostly crewcuts that I got so cheap I couldn't resist.)  No dinos.  2t?  No dinos.  Ah heck, 18-24?  A bodydouble from Gap.  I didn't think that would cut it.  Tillie's nest thought was, "We got Teddy a dino shirt at Kohl's!"  It's true, we did.  It's size 18m.  I humored her and let her try it on.  What do you know, an 18m Carter's unwashed boys tee will fit my nearly 4 year old daughter.  She's also wearing a crewcuts skirt and leggings with Morgan and Milo sparkle shoes.  She was so excited to show her teacher.

This picture is blurry and the shirt looks too small.  It actually fits her really well.  Apparently we only got crappy pictures before school, so here's a with flash version as well.

I think later next week I'm going to do a blog post about how inconsistent boys sizing is.  I swear, girl clothes don't vary as much.

Tuesday-Tuesday

After the sunshine in the Conservatory of the Gardens yesterday, today seems so cold!  Of course Tillie picked cropped leggings today.  Her dress and leggings are both Lands' End.  The dress is from a garage sale and I think the leggings are from another one.  The Morgan and Milo shoes are also from a garage sale. Perfect for preschool!

Teddy's wearing a Gap Himalaya hooded tee (from Goodwill), Old Navy jeans and Livie and Luca shoes.  He loves shirts with animals and kept roaring at me while I was putting it on him.  Then he was very insistent that we do not stop playing to take a picture.

Snow Day Pink

It was a snow day for Tim today!  I kind of have a loose rule of staying home all day on snow days.  If the roads are bad enough for no school I feel like it means I shouldn't go out.  Since we weren't going anywhere I let Tillie pick her outfit out on her own.

She picked a brown Gap tank, berry crewcuts city tee(with pushed sleeves), Cherokee tutu skirt, Gymboree socks(They're kind of like Dora!) and Morgan and Milo sparkle shoes.  She's been wearing this heart necklace most days lately.

Gearing Up For Valentine's Week

Thursday begins red and/or pink for a week, but I couldn't resist easing ourselves in with these crewcuts heart tights.  I paired it with her crewcuts chambray skirt and navy tee.

I would have really liked her wearing a kelly green top, but she doesn't have one.  I just love these tights.

A Warm Winter Day

The highest temperature I notice today was 56*, but it may have gotten slightly warmer.  I thought it would be a great day for Tillie to break out bare legs.  She was more than happy to comply!  She's wearing a Mini-Boden cake tee, navy crewcuts ruffle skirt, Gap eyelet socks and Morgan & Milo sparkle tennis shoes.  (It's gym day at school.)  She's worn all of these pieces before, but I don't think we've ever had them together.  This skirt is looking a lot shorter than last time she wore it.  I might need to measure her and see if she's grown recently!

I am not very good at doing hair, but I've been trying some new things lately.  I like how this half french braid turned out.  She calls it a "braid crown".

Teddy's wearing a Gap Playwear dino long sleeved tee, Peek plaid button-up and Gap Naval Academy blue denim.  I got the dino tee at Goodwill.  It's a size 18-24m, but it looked a little smaller than that to me.  I think it is actually a little too big, but it was pretty cute with this outfit anyway since it was layered.  Like he does most days, he wore his See Kai Run shoes when we went out.

"Here comes trouble!" was accurate today.  He took a short afternoon nap.  Boo.

Elf and a Lumberjack

You know how usually I plan my kids outfits so that they somewhat coordinate to look like they're at least going to the same type of event that day?  Today is not one of those days.

To school, Tillie wore a Deux Par Deux outfit she wore last year.  I had been thinking about how I never got a picture of it with the leggings for the blog and wondered if it still fit her.  It's size 2, but last winter she was still wearing diapers.  The leggings really aren't that short, they just got pulled up during gym and lunch.  The sleeves are long enough, but she insisted on pushing them up.  She's wearing Morgan & Milo Woodstock shoes and a crewcuts glitter clip.  This isn't a holiday outfiter per se, but it looks pretty festive when she wears it in December!

She was less than helpful when I was trying to get a picture.

Teddy stayed home and wore a Crazy 8 flannel shirt.  I think it was from a garage sale, or maybe my mom picked it up on super-clearance last winter.  He's also wearing Old Navy jeans and See Kai Run shoes.

Thanksgiving

I didn't buy my kids specific Thanksgiving outfits this year.  They had a few nice fall outfits that they've worn multiple times to church and other outings this fall.  Teddy wore his Janie & Jack Little Acorn one-piece again.  I didn't get a good picture of him alone in it today.  With Tillie I mixed and matched a lot of her fall pieces together to come up with this outfit.

Orange and Brown and Hearts

Thanksgiving week means wearing all the cute fall outfits for maybe the last time.  I'm sure this Gap Colorpop outfit will be worn more after Christmas.  Tillie likes how the tunic top has a "skirt" and a kangaroo pocket.  It's perfect for preschool.

Bright and Cheery

Today Tillie wanted to wear "all the colors!"  I pulled out a Ralph Lauren polo dress from her closet.  It's a 4t, but I always think these dresses run a little small.  It's still a little short as you can see the white top of her striped BabyLegs leggings.  Her necklace is crewcuts.

"I don't like brown."

I convinced Tillie to wear this Matilda Jane Fawn dress by adding the flowered Lands' End knee highs and crewcuts multicolored necklace.  Brown is not her favorite color, so of course I have this dress in two sizes.  I bought them both super-cheap during a sale.  I originally bought a 4, but it was so big that the next time they were on sale I bought a 2.  This is the 2 and it's still too big.  It's kind of weird, but the cotton is super-soft and thick.

This was the first time I sent her to school in Matilda Jane and I was a little nervous.  I'm not really attached to this dress at all. but I still didn't want anything to happen to it.  They even went on the playground today and all is good!

Green & Navy

Yep, my kids were matchy-matchy today.  Tim had the day off of school so we decided to go to the Gardens.

Teddy's wearing a Gap Dorchester body double, Gap Naval Academy skinny jeans and Livie and Luca elephant shoes.  He was really happy about posing for this picture.

Tillie is wearing her Matilda Jane Pearl, navy crewcuts tee and H&M heart patch jeans.  The jeans have a ribbed waist so she can take them on and off herself, plus they are suuuuuuuuper long.  Perfect for this tall skinny girl.

Orange in November

We went to a craft sale this morning at Tim's school.  I thought it would be cute to coordinate my kiddos in some fall colors.  Tillie's wearing a brown Gap tank(Goodwill), Janie & Jack pumpkin sweater, crewcuts chambray skirt, Gymboree Halloween Harvest tights(Garage Sale) and Gymboree Butterfly Girl orange clip.

Teddy's wearing an H&M orange striped tee, Gap dark denim and Livie & Luca shoes.  If he had a brown cardigan, I would have had him wear it.

Their outfits make me want a pumpkin bar.

Acorns

Teddy is wearing a Janie & Jack Little Acorn romper today.  I bought it when I was pregnant with Tillie and she actually wore it for a couple hours on her 1st Thanksgiving.  I don't have any pictures of her in it though, it was too big for her that first fall.  I just think it's so sweet and darling.  Of course, anything with an acorn is a huge hit over here.  His socks are "boot socks" from Old Navy.  They came in 6 packs and I bought the 12-24m and 2t last year because I just loved them.  They look like mini-Tim socks.  Don't look too closely at the pattern, you'll notice the windmill cookie remains from his after church snack.

Tillie's wearing a Matilda Jane Red Smart dress that I got on craigslist a year or so ago.  This is different from other knot dresses because the straps criss-cross in the back and there's elastic in the back of the bodice for a more snug fit.  Tillie likes it because there is "GOLD!!" on the ribbon.  I like the sticks on the fabric straps.  I layered it over a pink Cherokee tee.  Tillie pinked the red flower clip.

Sheesh, she kind of looks like a mannequin too.  They both insisted on holding the balloon.

Halloween Shirts

It's October, so it's not too early for Halloween shirts, right? I typically buy the kids holiday shirts when they're marked down and save them for the next year.  Last year Tillie had at least 2 Halloween shirts, but I'm pretty sure she wore them each once.  Last November I got smart and bought them each one shirt from the Gap.  Of course, Teddy had to go and be small.  Luckily, I found this body double bodysuit in 6-12m on a Facebook garage sale page for $1.
