It's Back!

I'm so happy to bring out our Matilda Jane green pearl again!  My favorite thing Tillie has ever worn looks just as darling on Bebe.  Today I layered a Skye knot top over it -- I found it at a garage sale last week!  I bonded with the mom about sending girls to school in MJ and buying more jeans for boys.  I kind of wish I had met her at school or church because I'd totally be friends with her.

Tillie's wearing a Naartjie top I found at a different garage sale.  It's a 5 and the coordinating pants it came with are a 4.  They fit, but are a little short so I made her wear Gap jeans to school. (She put the ruffle pants on after lunch.)

Greenhouse

It wasn't really warm enough for dresses and shorties, but we were going to see flowers and figured the car and greenhouse would be warm enough -- and they were.

Sisters in matching dresses.  I've been dreaming about this since I found out Beatrix was a girl.  Bea is wearing the Matilda Jane Wendy dress my mom bought for Tillie when she was this age.  Tillie is wearing a size 4 that I bought on Craigslist a couple years ago.  It's getting too short, but it works with shorties and I wasn't going to miss an opportunity for matching Matilda Jane!  Tille's shorties are DreamSpun and you can't see Beatrix's blue dotted Tea leggings.

Not to be left out, Teddy is dressed in Mighty Acorns(Matilda Jane's old boy line).  I found the tee at Village Kids last year and the jacket was Tillie's when she was little. He's 3 going on 15 in this picture and it kills me.

Palm Sunday!

Beatrix is wearing the Carter's Dress Tillie wore for her first Palm Sunday.

Tillie's wearing a Matilda Jane dress I found at Once Upon a Child. (Symon's General Store dress from the Good Hart line)  It's still too cold for short sleeves, so she opted for an Old Navy tee and Gymboree leggings under it.  (The other options were a cardigan and tights.)  Emmie needed to be in the picture because she is also wearing a dress with leggings.

Pretend Spring!

Grandma got a Gardens membership and we happily tagged along pretending that it was 30 degrees warmer than it actually is.

I made Tillie wear the dress because it matched Beatrix, but I surprisingly loved it with her Gap skinnny jeans.

March is the Hardest Month

No one wants to wear winter clothes anymore, but it's still too cold for spring outfits.

The girls are in Matilda Jane today.  Tillie's wearing the Westside 'Molly the Envy' skirt with a Gap tee, crewcuts tulle skirt and necklace, boutique knee socks and OshKosh shoes.  Beatrix is wearing the April knot dress(why I didn't put her in the Abbi knot dress that's from the same line as Tillie's skirt I'll never know) with a Cherokee layering tee, Gap eyelet socks and Livie & Luca Minnies.

Sweet Girl

My sweet girl is wearing a Matilda Jane Cupcake dress that my friend Laura found at Goodwill!  Even though it's not anywhere close to short-sleeved spring weather, I thought this dress worked well layered over a Carter's bodysuit and Next tights.  Her shoes are Robeez and her headband is Dear Grace & Parker.

Cold Weather is Here

Okay, it was a little cold for a picture outside this morning and you can tell by her face.  We only took one shot and got in the van!  Tillie's wearing a Mini-Boden pointelle tee(voucher+clearance sale last winter) under a Matilda Jane Bailey knot top(garage sale) with Gap skinny jeans and Target Fuggs.  I had her pick the bow.  I was pretty proud of her for noticing the blue in the top!  The top is a 6 and I think she'll get quite a few years out of it which will be awesome as Bea has some coordinating pieces in sizes 12m-2!

Happy Sunday!

Yikes!  The last week of summer!  And it kind of feels like summer is over since Tim has students tomorrow.  I'm glad that Tillie doesn't start until after Labor day this year.  I guess I better break out all the summery-summer outfits I can this week!

Bea is wearing a Ralph Lauren dress that was a gift from my friend Amy.  It's even prettier in person.

Ted-Ted is wearing his Matilda Jane/Mighty Acorns Little Os overalls.  I don't love it with the white H&M shirt under it, but I didn't think it would work without a shirt for church.  I used safety pins on the straps this time since I had to re-button them every 5 minutes last time he wore them.

I bought Tillie this Tea Collection dress at Once Upon a Child's $1 sale 2 years ago.  It's a size 3, but runs super-wide.  This is the first year that it fits in that regard.  It's now a little short, but I don't mind short lengths.  There are pink stitched stars on it that are hard to see.  It's prettier in person, but I just don't "love" it.  But, when you find Tea for $1 you buy it.

Also, she's 5 going on 15 in this picture.

My Sweet Girl

I've wanted Tillie to wear this outfit for awhile, but I did have both pieces at the same house at the same time until now.  The vintage print tank is DreamSpun and the skirt is Matilda Jane.  Sorry for the bright lighting, it really was darling on her.

We're Back!

But not until after one more day of dressing out of our closets at home.  Yeah, I made Tillie change out of her Matilda Jane Wendy dress immediately after taking this picture.

I was brave and let Ted stay in his crewcuts outfit all day.  The insect shirt was too perfect for hanging around the nature center.

Bea is wearing a Koala Kids outfit that was a baby gift when Tillie was born.  It's so fun dressing my daughters in the same clothes.  So far she doesn't seem to mind hand-me-downs.

Pink Bunnies

We're at home for one more day, but most of our clothes are still at Camp.  And, most of the clothes at home are the "nicer" things the kids own.  We decided to go to the farmer's market in style this morning.

I actually bought Bea this Beatrix Potter for babyGap dress this week.  I found it half price at Once Upon a Child for only $3.25.  Obviously she had to have it.   Her little clip was Tillie's first clip.  Til couldn't wear it until she was about 4 months old.

Teddy's wearing "Little Os" overalls from The Mighty Acorns, the old boys' line from Matilda Jane.  He's pretty proud of the acorn on them.  I probably would have layered a white tee under it, but they're all at Camp.  He didn't mind.

Tillie's wearing a crewcuts dress I bought ages ago.  It's a size 3, but ran super-wide.  It finally fits around her well, but is pretty short.  I thought about putting denim bermundas under it, but they're also at Camp.  Adding a crewcuts tulle skirt probably matched better anyway.

The colors of their outfit look pretty cute together.

I also like how both Tillie and Teddy have criss-cross straps.

Pink and Green

Today's agenda was my doctor's appointment, Nantucket Bakery and Yesterdog with my mom and Kiz.  I think Til and Ted were happy they got to stay in the waiting room instead of coming back with me to the exam room.

Teddy is wearing a Ruum polo from Goodwill.  Ruum was 77Kids, the American Eagle kids brand until it was sold a year or so ago.  He's also wearing Genuine Kids skinny jeans and navy TOMS.  Tillie is wearing the pink Valentine's flutter I made her.  By adding the green Dreamspun leggings and necklace I think it pulls out the green in the heart fabric on the dress making it more springy.  Maybe you still think it looks like a Valentine's outfit, but since I spend a lot of time making this dress(3 years ago...) I want her to wear it more.  And, she likes it.  She did wear a cardigan when we were outside/in the car, but she took it off immediately
upon arriving inside a building.

Tillie thought it was so funny that there was only a "tiny baby snow" left this morning.  It's all melted now though!  (In that pile.  There's still snow in other parts of our yard.)

It's Almost Gone

Check out how small the snow bank has gotten!  By the end of Spring Break all the snow in the yard just might have melted.

Tillie is wearing her Matilda Jane Wendy dress.  It just makes me so happy.  I'm glad that I have another girl coming to wear this and the size 18m one again.  She's also wearing Polka Dot Pearl crocheted lace leggings we bought at a sale yesterday.  They were only $5!  I bought them in pink as well.  They're both size 5/6, so she'll get a lot of wear out of them.  Her clip is from Sew Sweet Stitches on etsy and I love how it pulls the blue out of her dress and ties to Ted's shirt.

Teddy is wearing a crewcuts short-sleeved button-up over an H&M layering tee.  His Sonoma chinos have a hole in the knee now.  They didn't before church, but they did when I picked him up from nursery.  I'm glad I've been saving his crewcuts ones for Easter!  I still think I need to get him another pair though.  It's hard to find chinos with legs that aren't crazy wide on him -- at a price I want to pay!

Happy Spring!

Even though Tim scraped ice off my windows this morning, it's officially Spring!  This morning we met some of my cousins at the Children's Museum.  My "Super Fast" Ted is wearing a crewcuts tee over an H&M layering tee, Geniune Kids skinny jeans and his red TOMS(that are *almost* too small at size 5.5).

Tillie is wearing a Matilda Jane Knot dress as a top.  It's a 2.  There are a lot of annoying things about a slim girl and clothing, but this is definitely a perk!  She was 16m when she wore it for the first time.  Today it's layered over a Next top(thrift store) with Gap skinny jeans and "red" mary jane TOMS.  I got them recently from Zulily, but I think they're more of a dark coral.  Pretty color, but not what I was expecting.  Her clip and necklace are Dreamspun.

Digging in the Spring Bins

I know we're still firmly in winter, but I just can't dress them in their fall/winter clothes everyday anymore.  Instead we found some Spring things we could "winterize" for today.

Teddy's wearing a crewcuts tee with cars on it.  He says they're race cars like Lightning McQueen, so it wasn't too hard to get him dressed this morning.  I layered it over a navy crewcuts long sleeved tee.  His jeans are Genuine Kids and his shoes are Vans.

I let Tillie pick this morning and she wanted a dress, long sleeves with pants.  This Matilda Jane Stargazer Dress as a tunic and chambray ruffle pants fit her specifics.  The ivory tissue tee is crewcuts and her shoes are TOMS.  (She does wear snow boots too school, so she didn't have bare feet outside at all.)  She requested a side view photo so you could see her crown braid and pigtails.

MJ Remix

Last night when I was picking out the kids clothes for church this morning nothing from Tillie's closet was jumping out at me.  Somehow this Matilda Jane Westside button tee was next to her Gypsy Blue Disco skirt.  She hasn't worn the skirt(size 2, but still big in the waist...) in a while because I didn't have a top that matched it that fits her anymore.  The blue tee is fairly similar to the blue in the skirt, so I decided to go with it.  The tee is a 6, but it runs a little small.  She's also wearing Gap tights, a crewcuts necklace and Circo Fuggs.

Dreaming of Spring

I know it's the middle of January and spring is a looooong time away, but I was in the mood for some spring today.  We went to the Gardens after a doctor's appointment this morning, but they were doing a lot of cleaning, the sun wasn't out and there were a lot of photographers with tripods making trips through some rooms not possible.  I didn't really get my spring fix there.  C'est la vie!  At least we got there just a few minutes before story time started.

Tillie's wearing a Matilda Jane Bobbi Jo dress(2) as a tunic, crewcuts tissue tee Gap skinny jeans(5t), Circo Fuggs and a DreamSpun necklace and bow.  I'm not how I didn't realize how well this necklace she made during spring break matches this dress.  (Or maybe she has worn it together already and I just forgot.)

You've got to love a dress she's been wearing since before she was 2!

What Does the Fox Say?

I had to get Teddy this Gap Poppy sweater when I saw it.  It helped that it was price killed and half off of that, so cheap.  We've finally convinced him that it is a fox and not a Tiger.  His shoes are Livie & Luca and his chinos are crewcuts.

Tillie's wearing a Matilda Jane dress from last year's holiday line.  She wore this often last year.  It's a little short this year, but with a tulle skirt under it I think it still works.  Plus, this year she will allow the sleeves to be long!  I just got the cream tights at Gap.  I had to size up to 4-5 from her 3-4 tights, her legs are too long for those.  Good news she says that these ones aren't itchy but are "super-cozy!"  Two weeks ago when I had her wear tights she said, "Mom, you say tights aren't itchy, but they DO feel itchy."  I told her if she wanted to wear dresses in the winter she had to wear them, so she does.

My camera battery charger is lost and my battery is dead.  I have a new charger coming, but in the meantime I've been using Tim's iPhone.  So, not the awesomest pictures...

A Bonus

The bonus to Teddy being small is that he can still wear 18-24m clothes from the baby boy section at Gap.  I found this Le Marais one-piece romper for $3.50.  Seriously, you can't pass up a whole outfit at that price.  His Gap Military Prep cardigan goes with it quite nicely.

Whoops!  Cut off his head today.

Brown is still the color of the month for preschool, so I figured she might as well wear some more today.  I got the Mini-Boden shirt at a consignment sale for $2(?).  The Matilda Jane Greta in Calico skirt was $2 at a garage sale because it has some blue stains on it.  I tried to get them out, but didn't have much luck.  Since there are so many patterns on the skirt they're not as noticeable as they could be.  And well, she's at preschool.  That's where nearly all of Tillie's stains come from, so she might as well wear it there.  Her Osh Kosh brown mary janes are from an end of season sale at Kohl's a while ago.  They're a pair I had bought for last winter, but then her feet stalled in growth for awhile.

She was freezing, so this dorky smile was the best I got.
