Happy Star Wars Day!

I knew I'd have Teddy wear his crewcuts Yoda shirt today, but I wasn't sure if I could convince Tillie to wear the crewcuts R2D2 shirt  I'd bought ahead for Teddy.  I played up the Princess Leia buns and she was ALL ABOUT it.  Teddy's wearing Gap shorts and Tillie's wearing a crewcuts skirt.  (I found the chambray skirt she loved on eBay!  The other one she had was size 3, this is a 6-7 and has a ton of room.)

Tulipsaurus Rex

Yesterday at Tulip Time Teddy picked out this 'dino in wooden shoes' tee at Ambrose.  We made it in a 3t, but it seems to run a little big.  It will be awhile until it fits Ted, so Tillie decided to wear it to school today.  When she mentioned wearing her wooden shoes too I said they might be too noisy for school.  She replied, "I meant just for the picture!"  We layered the tee over a crewcuts striped tee and paired it with her crewcuts chambray skirt and Carter's leggings.  She wore TOMS to school.

Beatrix is wearing a Gymboree Jungle Gym one-piece over a Carter's bodysuit.  She was not thrilled about posing for this picture.

Big Sister & Hand-Me-Downs

This purple Carter's sunsuit was Tillie's and now Bea gets to wear it.  I hope she doesn't mind hand-me-downs, because she's going to have a ton of them!  I layered it over a long sleeve Carter's bodysuit and added polka dot BabyLegs(from my cousin Cara!).  Her headband is from Dear Grace and Parker.  A lot of my newborn clothes are either too short for Beatrix or not seasonally appropriate, so we have get creative.  I think it ended up darling!

This is the Carter's t-shirt Tillie wore to the hospital to meet Beatrix.  She's pretty proud of it, and if you ask her what it says she adds "EVER" at the end.  Her skirt is crewcuts and the leggings are Hanna Andersson.  At school she wore her red/coral TOMS mary janes.

Dentist Day!

Just what every kid wants to do on their spring break!  (When I scheduled it I didn't realize that it was spring break.)

Tillie's wearing a new Gap shoe tee I bought this week.  Sale was 30% off, so I got it for $2.79.  I couldn't really resist that even though it's a size 4.  Kizie picked it out.  The shoes say "Let's Go" in yellow in them, so we added the crewcuts yellow star leggings under her chambray skirt.  Of course when you're wearing a shoe shirt you have to wear fancy shoes, like Circo sparkle ones.

This skirt is a size 3 and still gets worn more than any of her other skirts.  I'm thinking of making her one like it and almost bought fabric to do so last week.  But, then they didn't have what I was looking for at the location I stopped at.  If I don't do it now I'm not sure I'll get it done for a while...

Hugs & Kisses!

I had to bribe Tillie for this one.  I promised her after we got home she could put on whatever she wanted to wear(but so far she's kept it on...).  Teddy was OVER THE MOON that he was wearing a matching shirt.  The shirts are Hanna Andersson.  Teddy's is an 80 I bought for him on facebook last year and Tillie's is a 90 I bought at Goodwill(for Ted, actually).  I think the shirts might be from different years because the color red and size of the XOXO are a little different.  Still, you better believe they got a lot of comments at the mall!

M is for Matilda!

This week was M and forest animal week at preschool.  She has quite a few things she could have worn with that theme, but since Monday and Wednesdays were snow days we decided on her American Apparel Mm shirt we found at Goodwill last year.  Her teacher loved it, so I think it was a good choice.  We layered it over a white Cherokee long sleeved tee and added a crewcuts chambray skirt and red Hanna Andersson liveable leggings(Costco).  With a red Dreamspun bow on top she looked pretty cute for a snowy day!

She wore her navy Cons at school because we thought it was a fym day, but since they were setting up for the auction they stayed in the classroom.  That was probably for the best since I'm sure they had a lot of catch-up to get through from missing two days!  (Of course she had to miss two days of  "forest animals" week.  That's vocab I'd really want her to know!)

Orange, Again

Tillie was suppose to wear orange to Preschool today, so I thought it would be a great day to rock their Halloween shirts one last time.  Tillie's wearing a Gymboree Harvest Leaves tee with her chambray crewcuts skirt and Hanna Andersson livable leggings.

While this shirt is still too wide, it looks much better with a tank under it and a full skirt.

Teddy's wearing a Jumping Bean mummy tee I got used, I'm not sure where.  His Pumpkin Patch vest was only a $1 at the thrift store.  He LOVES this thing and it looks especially cute with the orange on his tee.

Fall Fun

This afternoon we met my cousin's at a local greenhouse that sets up a kid play area every fall.  Since it's a super-sunny day and it's a greenhouse it can get pretty warm in there.  Because of that, I wasn't able to dress them in cute layered fall outfits.

I picked out Teddy's Gymboree Shark Alert plaid shirt first.  It had orange in it, so I figured it looked a little more seasonal than his other short-sleeved shirts.  He's wearing it with Crazy 8 skinny jeans and gray Cons.

Then, because I'm a big dork and I like my kids to match, I picked out a navy crewcuts "gardening" tee for Tillie.  It has a rake on it, so that was her fall influence.  I added a Gymboree orange clip to coordinate with Teddy and a crewcuts chambray ruffle skirt..  I wasn't sure what shoes would match, but then realized her feet are growing so much lately and she'd probably be able to wear the navy Cons I bought at a garage sale last summer.  They looked so cute!  But, at a place where you take your shoes on and off for inflatables it's annoying to retie them for her.  Oh well, she looked cute!

El Mar

Preschool's theme this week is "the sea".  Tillie has a lot of nautical things from last year's crewcuts line that were perfect: Anchor tee, chambray skirt and cropped anchor leggings.  I would have had her wear sandals, but it's still a bit cool and I thought they might blister her at school since she hasn't worn any yet this year.

I thought Teddy needed in on this week's theme as well.  What do you know, but she even learned about "pulpo" today.  Teddy really likes this Gap octopus shirt(garage sale).  He's also wearing shark Robeez(garage sale) and Crazy 8 skinny jeans(thrift store).

Knights!

Friday was half off clothing at my local thrift store.  I happened upon these two Calvin College tees and I couldn't pass them up.  50¢ each?!  What makes it funny is that we already own the shirt Tillie is wearing in another 3t.  I just couldn't leave it there.  This one seems to have been washed and dried on a higher temp than I do because it's a little smaller.  Teddy's is a 2t, it's a little big, but I wanted them to wear matching shirts because Calvin started tournaments today!

Teddy's also wearing Old Navy jeans and Robeez.  Tillie is wearing a crewcuts ruffle skirt, Cherokee knee socks and Circo Fuggs.

Hanna Andersson Valentines

 I got Tillie this Hanna Andersson (size 90) sweater at a garage sale last spring.  Tillie doesn't love sweaters, but I think it was only $2 so I couldn't resist it.  Luckily, she doesn't mind this one because of the heart.  She's wearing it with her chambray crewcuts ruffle skirt, Gymboree tights and Morgan and Milo woodstocks.

Teddy is wearing a Hanna Andersson (size 80) t-shirt I bought from someone off facebook last fall.  I thought it was going to be too big this year, but we just might get two years out of it.  It shouldn't be a surprise, but I love how thick and soft the cotton is.  He's also wearing Gap jeans and See Kai Run shoes.

Gearing Up For Valentine's Week

Thursday begins red and/or pink for a week, but I couldn't resist easing ourselves in with these crewcuts heart tights.  I paired it with her crewcuts chambray skirt and navy tee.

I would have really liked her wearing a kelly green top, but she doesn't have one.  I just love these tights.

Summer 2012 Staff Kid Shirts

Um, yes.  You read that right.  The staff kid shirts didn't come in until after we had moved home from the summer.  Because of that, I just ordered sizes that would fit the kids next summer.  Teddy's is a 2t(24m was only available in a bodysuit and I wanted a tee) and Tillie's is a 3t.  Oh, then there's the fact that they're wearing them today.  We had to take a new staff picture because the original was lost. Tillie and Teddy weren't in the first picture, so this was a bonus for me!

Teddy's is layered over a Camp acorn thermal and Tillie's wearing and Old Navy tee, crewcuts skirt and Gap Valentine tights.  W e had to find some way to girly up the boxy too big fit of the tee.

And I've now used this picture on both of my blogs and facebook.  I love it though.

Rain, Rain

We popped outside in between some rain showers today to take a few pictures.  Tillie is wearing a crewcuts long sleeved tee, chambray ruffle skirt and necklace.  The rain boots are from Target clearance this summer.

Cool and Rainy

Today did not feel like August; it felt a lot more like March!  We still went out to Holland for the sidewalk sales in pouring rain.  Tillie wore this Mini-Boden hotchpotch tee that I got at a garage sale.  It was pretty cheap because of some stains on it.  I got most of them out.  There's still a little bit of blue marker on the front, but because of the pattern it's hard to notice.  It will be a great shirt for preschool.  I'm sure she's going to come home from school with stains so I might as well send her in this one.  She's wearing it with her chambray crewcuts skirt.

Lake Michigan

I love the lake.  When I first saw this crewcuts tee I knew Tillie needed it.  I actually bought it when it wasn't on sale, but returned it.  Thankfully I caught it on sale last week.  It looks great on Tillie and she adores it just as much as I do.  I love how the water matches with the crewcuts chambray skirt.

She thinks it's funny that the dog is wearing the same sunglasses as the girl.

Teddy wore a Gymboree Prairie Ranch button-down and Old Navy khaki shorts.  There's a cute tractor applique on the back that I somehow managed to not take a picture of.

Backpacks!

Teddy has worn his Gymboree Wilderness Club backpack tee a number of times now.  It's 3-6m and the sleeves are getting a little short.  A month ago I found the same shirt in 3t for him.  It was a steal and too perfect for a son of Tim's.  As I was packing it away I thought, "Hey!  Tillie wears 3t right now."  It went in her suitcase for Camp.  Of course, it's been about a bajillion degrees for most of our time here.  This morning was deliciously cool so I pulled out their matching shirts.  Teddy is wearing Old Navy shorts and Tillie has a crewcuts chambray skirt to "girly" it up.

Tillie's also wearing new to us Livie and Luca shoes.  I had admired them on an online facebook page, but a friend of mine posted for them first.  When I stopped at her house to buy some boots for Tillie she offered to sell them to me since they wouldn't fit her girls for a while.  Tillie LOVES them.  She asked to put them on the minute she saw them and has worn them constantly since.  Perfect for $4.

Tillie did not want to model this morning.

Not a Bonnet Lover Today

Tillie begrudgingly let me take a picture of her with her Urban Baby Bonnet today.  She just wasn't in the mood, but it matches her crewcuts bow tank so well.  I will admit that it is a little warm for extra layers when we weren't planning on being in the sun.  She's also wearing a crewcuts skirt and Stride Rite sandals.  The sandals were from a garage sale last week.

Teddy is wearing a Tea Collection top I bought at a consignment store when I was trying to get pregnant.  The Tea shorts I bought from a friend.  They have a matching top, but I need to replace/move a button and I haven't gotten around to it yet.  Delightfully they're a great match to this shirt!  He's a little drooly today from chewing on toys.

  This picture of Tillie seems to more accurately represent her outfit.  It's darling on, but the first picture looks frumpy.  This skirt is one of Tillie's favorites and asks to wear it whenever she sees it.

Gorgeous and Sunny

The weather today is amazing.  It was perfect for garage saling with friends.  Tillie was too busy trying out toys and did not want her picture taken.  This was the best I got.  She's wearing her Mini-Boden "coffee" tee, crewcuts chambray ruffle skirt and necklace, her Urban Baby Bonnet along with her new Salt-Water sandals.  I gave up on finding used ones and bought these Swimmers from Zappos.  They're a different style from last year, but I thought they would look cute in white and match nearly everything.

Teddy was a much more willing participant.  He's finally fitting into size 6-9 months so I pulled out Reuben's bin in that size this week.  These are his Osh Kosh plaid shortalls with a Carter's bodysuit.

Spring Break -- Extras

I tried using my brother's fancy camera to take pictures of my kids by the ocean.  We had three problems.
1. I don't really know how to use his camera.
2. I didn't think about the lighting when I set them up.
3. Neither one of them had any interest in posing on the cold beach while wearing summer clothes.

I do like the clothing combinations I came up with though!  I took these pictures on Tuesday.

Morning:

I really like the colors together and how they play off the blanket I got at an estate sale.

Again, I like how the colors play together.  I'll just have to try again at Lake Michigan this summer.  It should(?) be easier when Teddy can sit up without the bumbo.
