Sisters in Crazy 8 tees and Gap skinny jeans.
They're both even wearing patent leather mary janes. Tillie's are Stride Rite from a garage sale and Bea's are Gymboree I bought when Tillie was little.

Bulldozer
I always have to fight Ted to get out of his pajamas in the morning. Today I tried to get him excited by saying, "Teddy, do you want to wear a digger shirt today!?" He replied, "Mommy, that's a bulldozer." *ahem* It appears he is correct.
His Gap construction shirt and 77 Kids jeans are from Goodwill and his Pumpkin Patch vest is from the thrift store on half-price day. His Stride Right shoes are from a garage sale. Hooray for a cheap, cute outfit! (Even if the 18-24m shirt is still big on him...)

Jeans and Tees
Today was a gym day for Tillie, so she requested "pink tie shoes -- 'cause they're good for running!". Along with her Conversere, she's wearing a Mini-Boden tee and H&M jeans.

Stripes
Teddy was not so happy about posing today. Actually, he didn't want to bring Tillie to school. "BACK HOME." Sorry bud, we have some groceries to get after this! He's wearing a Mini-Boden layered tee, Gap jeans and Stride Rite shoes. We added his vest and newsboy cap later and it was so cute.

Orange
Yesterday when I was talking to my cousin's about holiday wear, I realized that I had a unisex 18-24m Gymboree Halloween pumpkin tee in the attic. I don't love it on Teddy, but he did think it was pretty funny. He's also wearing Osh Kosh jeans and Stride Rite shoes. The kids were both going outside to "help" Tim with the leaves.
I bought Tillie this Gymboree Harvest Leaves cat tee at a garage sale for 50¢ a couple years ago. It really doesn't fit her well -- it's too wide and the sleeves are too short. It's the only Halloween tee she has this year so it will do. She's wearing H&M heart patch jeans and Stride Rite shoes.

Fall Dresses
Teddy and I stayed home this morning, but Tillie went to church with Tim. She wore a Gap Himalaya camel cord dress and Gap Copper Mountain striped tights. The tights came with another Copper Mountain cord dress, but they match this one nicely too. They're all from a garage sale. I can't remember where I got the Stride Rite mary janes, but they are used. I don't love this color on Tillie, but the crewcuts coral necklace helps a little. She thought it was fun that her tights matched the leaves!

Apple Picking
We went apple picking today and Tillie knew exactly what she wanted to wear. I found two different Gymboree pieces with apples on two different trips to Goodwill. The top is from Rhinestone Fun and the cord skirt is from the outlet version of Prep School. It was great with her Old Navy blue mary janes.
Tillie wanted Teddy to wear apples too, but when I said he didn't have any she agreed to an "apple red" shirt for him. It's Genuine Kids. His jeans are Gap and the shoes are Stride Right.

Future Knight?
When I was two months away from my due date with Tillie some friends had a new baby boy. I was still working at J. Crew, so during my next shift I immediately went to Gymboree and searched the sale racks. I was thrilled to find this maroon and gold striped rugby for them -- the colors of the college we went to. Last summer a different friend was selling the same rugby in 18-24m. I immediately snatched it up. This top from the Turbo Charged line is too cute on Ted. I just want to take him to Calvin to take pictures of him there in it. He's also wearing Gap jeans and Stride Rite shoes.
Aw, sweet Ted. Don't you just want to snuggle him!?

Not Really a Post
In the crazy moving to and from and to Camp this week, I haven't taken any pictures of my kids outfits in a while. Most of them aren't worth photographing, to be honest. Or, if they were, Teddy is beyond messy within 15 minutes of getting dressed. I'm going to have to take pictures immediately after dressing him at Camp!
Anyway, here's a picture of Tillie in the Georgia Grace Simple Life halter that I took a few weeks ago. My mom bought it for her and I made red shorties to go with itfrom Old Navy leggings. They're both size 5 and a little too big. She might wear it once or twice later this summer, but suspect it will be worn a lot next summer because as soon as I showed Tillie the shorties she said, "Are you going to take my picture? Let's do it now!"
I also made the necklace. I can't wait until it all fits well!

Birthday Girl
A couple of months ago when Tillie and I were talking about her birthday she said, "And you're going to make me a number 4 shirt!" I hadn't been planning on it and was hoping she'd forget about it. No, she was very excited about a 4 shirt.
Pretty much all of her t-shirts right now are graphic tees, so we had to get a new one to sew on. When I realized that she wasn't going to back down on the 4 tee I started looking at garage sales for something that would work, but never found anything. Last week Old Navy had tees on sale for $5 and I had a 30% off coupon. $3.50 seemed like an okay price! I let Tillie pick out the shirt -- she was immediately drawn to the red and white stars. When we got home I showed her all the knit fabric I had that would work for a 4. Without a second guess she chose plain navy. As soon as I started sewing it I realized how awesome this was -- it will be perfect for the 4th of July! For her birthday we paired it with a navy ruffle crewcuts skirt and last summer's (7.5) white Stride Rite sandals.
Little Ted is wearing some 18-24m clothes that I'm not too sure about yet. Well, the Old Navy shirt fits pretty well. "Turtley Awesome - Just Like Dad"? Of course I had to get it when I found it on clearance last summer. The Mini-Boden baggies are just a little too big on him. Maybe they just don't work on someone so short. Here's hoping they look better by the end of the summer! I got them at a garage sale last fall and they will match a lot.

Easter!
We had a lovely day of church, dinner at my mom's, an egg hunt and eating too much candy.
Tillie wore a dress that my mom made for me when I was little. She was so excited to wear it. She's wearing the Mini-Boden white tulle skirt that she wore last year under her Easter dress again this year along with a crewcuts cardigan. The t-strap shoes are Stride Rite from a consignment sale a year or so ago. I was hoping she would be able to wear her yellow Salt-Water sandals, but it was quite cool out.
Teddy wore linen longalls I made him. I love Easter longalls. His bodysuit is Carter's and he's also wearing white leather shoes like he wore last year. I got these for 99¢ at Goodwill. There's just not another style of shoe that works better with an outfit like this.
Tillie forgot her bonnet at home for church and in the car at my mom's, but she was so excited about it this year. She tried to get Tim to go home from church to pick it up.
And, another picture of my sweet boy who was not thrilled with my photo shoot. You can see his shoes better here.

Valentine's Day!
It's finally here! You may have noticed that there was no post of their red and pink outfits yesterday. That's because I had food poisoning and no one changed out of pajamas all day long. (Something that I don't think ever's happened over here before.) They were both wearing red, um, *cough* Christmas *cough* pajamas, so maybe that counts? I might have at least Teddy wear the last outfit I was planning tomorrow.
Today! Tillie's wearing a black H&M layering tee, red velvet Old Navy dress, Gap Valentines heart tights and black Stride Rite shoes. I feel like this dress is already shorter than when she wore it at Christmas. Crazy.
Tim even surprised her with a Valentine on her door this morning.
My little man Ted is wearing an H&M elbow-patch cardigan, The Children's Place gingham button-up, Gap Naval Academy jeans, Freycoo shoes and a sweet little heart bow tie that I made him.
The tie didn't turn out exactly how I planned, but since it was sewn entirely out of material from my stash it's just perfect for likely one day of wear.
Maybe sometime when I'm borrowing Philip's camera I'll dress them up again so I can get better pictures of their outfits. I think they look so cute together today. (Not that they don't every day, but, you know.)

Navy in January
I love navy in the new year. It probably has something to do with the new resort line that came out ever January. It was nearly always navy and you could be sure that there would be some stripes. After having worked there for eight years I think it's in my blood now.
Tillie's wearing a crewcuts cardigan and dress, Lands' End tee and pink shimmer Cherokee tights. It's not the best outfit with this dress that she's worn, but the new shimmer tights were requested. I found them at Target yesterday 70% off. Sure, I'll let you have pink shimmer tights for $1.50. She just got the necklace from the J.Crew Factory Store in Michigan City on our way home from Chicago. (Hello, 40% off sale!)
Teddy's wearing a sweater from The Children's Place that my Aunt gave us when he was born. I layered it over a chambray shirt from Old Navy(garage sale) and his Gap Naval Academy cargo chinos. He looked so cute today. Like a little man. The sweater is size 18m and seems to run a little big, but I've never understood sizing at TCP. They don't even have a 2t...

Yard Work
This afternoon I dressed the kids in some hooded sweatshirts and took them outside to rake some leaves. Yep, hooded sweatshirts. It's not something you see everyday over here! They're both Jumping Beans brand from Kohl's. Teddy is wearing Cherokee jeans and Tillie's are from The Children's place. Both pairs of jeans are from garage sales.

Trick or Treat!
We went Trick or Treating in downtown Holland today, which was perfect since it's suppose to rain on Halloween. I bought Teddy his Carter's dog costume at Meijer last year after Halloween at 75% off. When I pulled out the Halloween costumer bucket I realized I didn't buy anything for Tillie. I figured my holidays of coordinating their costumes are limited, so I wanted to keep it up while I still can. A couple weeks ago I posted on facebook for a costume for Tillie if Teddy was going to be a dog. My friend Katie suggested that Tillie be a lady and Teddy could be her dog. When I gave Tillie this option it took a day, but then she proudly told anyone who asked, "I'm going to be a fancy lady and Teddy's going to be my dog."
As it turns out I bought a white faux fur size 4 coat at a thrift store when Tillie was 1. For 99¢ I couldn't resist it for dress-up. It's hung in the back of our coat closet ever since then. I wanted her to wear a hat, but I didn't have one. I kept checking Goodwill, but never found any hats other than the random ball cap. Randomly 2 weeks ago my mom watched my kids one morning while I ran errands. I rarely do this so I made the most of my time and stopped at 2 Goodwills. What do you know, I found the most perfect "fancy lady hat. It was too small for me, so I knew it would be great for Tillie. It had a strap to hold it on her head and it was only $4.99. When I found the navy had I decided to just let her wear the navy crewcuts dress. It's currently her favorite item of clothing and asks to wear it whenever she sees it. The necklaces are Gymboree and crewcuts. Fancy ladies always have a lot of accessories, you know. Tillie actually hates the coat, but it was cold out so she begrudgingly accepted it.
I even did her hair "fancy" using this pin I accidentally found this morning. It would work better with longer hair, but it was still darling.
This is the second year in a row that I've picked out Teddy's costume first and coordinated Tillie to him. Next year, if they both agree, I already have Tillie's costume. I'm pretty sure Tillie will love it and that I'll have no problem convincing a 2 year old to be what I want him to. You'll just have to wait a whole year to find out!

My Stars
I feel like broken record here, but Teddy's still firmly in most 6-12m clothing. I don't really want to buy him more fall clothes in this size because I know(hope?) that he's going to grow into all his lovely 12-18m clothes soon. However, when I found this black Gap star bodysuit and reversible striped/car print Gap Bleeker Street cardigan at Goodwill on Tuesday I couldn't resist. The bodysuit is a perfect match, but I couldn't find what line it's from. These reversible jackets at Gap have matching reverisble pants, but there weren't any at Goodwill that day. Just as well, I'm sure they'd be too short. Instead, we paired them with his Gap Naval Academy jeans and Circo dino shoes. After I dressed him I went and changed my clothes. He just looked too "cool" for my J. Crew ivory city tee.
Tillie didn't want to be left out of the star clothing, so she chose this crewcuts graphic tee. We paired it gray bubble skirt I got at Old Navy yesterday for $2. It reverses to pink polka dots and is a 4t. We'll get a couple years out of it(and the 2 others I bought). The cascade ruffle cardigan is also crewcuts. The Stride Rite shoes I got for $2 at a thrift store. I don't love them with this outfit, but Tillie said they looked good.

Room to Grow
Teddy has always been on the smallish side. His 6-12m pants are still falling off him, but are starting to get close to too short. I bought him some 12-18m pants recently because the have adjustable waists. They're still kind of ridiculous, but actually work better than the 6-12m pants. I really like these gray Gap Naval Academy jeans. I suspect he's going to wear them a lot this winter. He's wearing them with a Peek button-down(Nordstrom Rack) and a Janie & Jack cardigan. The Peek shirt is 12-18m too, but I just couldn't wait to put it on him. I love plaid shirts on this guy. The cardigan is 3-6m, but I think all Janie & Jack runs about a size big. His loafers are Janie & Jack that I got for $1.50 at a garage sale. They're darling, but they don't stay on. We had to walk all the way back to the giant pumpkins at the Gardens to collect one of them today.
This crewcuts dress was one of the last things I bought for Tillie before I stopped working there. It was the back-up "First Day of School Dress" if it was cold. Tillie loves it and has been asking to wear it since the day I bought it home. I bought a 4 because it fit okay and I figured I could get two years out of it. Tillie's gotten picky lately about how fabrics feel when she's wearing them. This one passes with flying colors. The Stride Rite shoes I bought at a consignment sale last year. They're 8.5 and she can still wear most 7s comfortably. I suspect she's ready for a foot growth spurt. She's been wearing 7s for a long time now!
I thought they looked so cute together in their matching blues and reds today.

School Picnic
Tillie had a few pieces from Gymboree's Tropical Bloom line that we mix and match. This plaid top and denim short is nice a nice combo. The denim shorts were perfect for playing on the playground at Tim's school. The plaid shirt would cover up any stains from dinner eaten on a picnic blanket.
Tillie served up some wood chip french fries from the "castle" restaurant.

Coordinating with Mom
This is not something I usually do. I think I matched Kizie enough when she was little that I got it out of my system. I bought this Matilda Jane Hotline tank dress when I was pregnant with Tillie. (If I were to design this dress I would make the tank a little longer and lengthen the skirt a bit. It's a little short.) This spring my mom bought Tillie this Damsel dress at a garage sale. It's from the same line, but the only fabric that is the same on the two dresses in the ruffle trim on mine and the waist band on Tillie's dress. My shoes and necklace and Tillie's necklace are all J.Crew/crewcuts.
