Birthday Ted

I just didn't have it in me to make a '2' shirt for Teddy.  On Monday I stopped in Gap and markdowns were 30% off.  I found this Playtime Favorites fire truck tee and knew it would be perfect.  Then I just asked if my birthday coupon for 25% off would work on top of it.  Wouldn't you know, but it did!  I got this tee for $4.  Perfect.  He LOVES it.  He's wearing it with Gap jeans, plaid Peek button-up and gray Converse.

Chilly Morning

It warmed up by the time I picked Tillie up from preschool, but at drop-off Tillie insisted she needed a scarf and a coat.  I think my sister made her the green scarf.  The polka-dot fleece lined raincoat is from Gap.  She had it size 2t as well.  This one is a 5.  My mom bought the Gymboree Sweet Treats dress during the 50% off sale prices + 20% off coupon sale last year.  I almost had her bring it back because I knew it would be too wide on Tillie, but it was less than $3 so my mom said to keep it for Preschool.  A few weeks later I found matching socks(that look like they've never been worn) for 50¢ at the thrift store.  I think the socks are a size too big, but the dress should fit for another year yet anyway.  These are her new pink sparkle Morgan & Milo Woodstocks.  I miss the tan ones she wore last year.  They just went with everything.  These pink ones are an odd shade of pink that don't seem to match most of the pinks Tillie has.  C'est la vie.

Since Tillie was wearing a coat Teddy insisted on it as well.  His is from last year(12-18m, still fits...) from Gap.  I think I bought it when I was pregnant with him.  He's also wearing Gap jeans from a consignment store, Peek button-up from Nordstrom Rack and red TOMS from Zulily.

Spanish Camp!

Tillie's going to Spanish Camp at her preschool this week.  Her review, "We got to play at the park[playground], painted a crab and saw pictures of the sea.  There was no snack or pictures."
It's another cool day over here so she's wearing an ArtPrize American Apparel tee with crewcuts ruffle skirt and leggings.

Ted got to run errands with me.  Here's our stop at Target in a Peek... Aren't You Curious button-up and Crazy 8 skinny jeans.  Ack, the cuffed jeans and TOMS are so cute to me.

So, because I'm awesome and my hobby is my kids' clothes I have Pinterest boards for some items in their "closets".  It helps me plan pictures, holidays and store line names for the blog.  I was trying to find his Crazy 8 skinny jeans today when I discovered they are girl jeans.  Now, I really don't don't care that they're girl jeans, but it's crazy how much better they fit than all the other boy jeans he has.  Also interesting is that I bought both of them second hand and they were both in the boy sections of the store.

Wedding Reception!

My cousin Michelle got married in South Carolina this past April.  Since some Michigan people weren't able to make it to the wedding(me!) they had a reception here today.

I had different outfits planned, but it all of a sudden was cool and rainy today.  I'm still happy with how it all turned out.  Although itt would have been better if I got a picture of them together since they each had parts of red, white and blue for Memorial Day!

Teddy's wearing his Peek button up with Gap Outlet linen pants.  I got the pants at a garage sale for $1 last week.  They're 18-24m and I was worried that they'd be ridiculous on him.  Not too bad!

Tillie's wearing a crewcuts dress and cardigan with her yellow Salt-Water sandals.  Kizie showed up wearing the same sandals, which they both thought was awesome.

Outfit Redo

Today after Teddy's haircut we drove out to Holland since it finally stopped raining.  They're both wearing things they wore together last fall.  Tillie wore her striped crewcuts ruffle dress and Gap cherry tubes.  This is one of Tillie's favorite dresses, comfy and not long-sleeved.

Teddy's Peek... Aren't You Curious button-up fits him much better now.  He's also wearing Crazy 8 skinny jeans(12-18m) I got at the thrift store for 50¢ on Tuesday.

It's Here!

Valentine's Week is upon us again.  Tillie and I (and maybe Teddy) will be wearing red and/or pink everyday until the 14th.  We started out today with a red Old Navy tee.  Tillie's had this shirt in every size since 18-24m.  I think got them for about 80¢ each.  This is the end of the road.  I'm sure buying a 4t shirt when she was 1 seemed ridiculous.  (Honestly, a 3t does too.  But hey, less than a dollar!)  Her jean skirt is also Old Navy and the heart tights are Gymboree Homecoming Kitty.  My mom got her the necklace.  It says "God is Love on the silver circle.

Teddy's wearing an outfit he's worn many times before, but it has red and matched Tillie. Tea cardigan, Peek, button-up and Gap Naval Acaemy jeans.  He stayed home all day so he never got shoes or socks.

A Warm Winter Day

The highest temperature I notice today was 56*, but it may have gotten slightly warmer.  I thought it would be a great day for Tillie to break out bare legs.  She was more than happy to comply!  She's wearing a Mini-Boden cake tee, navy crewcuts ruffle skirt, Gap eyelet socks and Morgan & Milo sparkle tennis shoes.  (It's gym day at school.)  She's worn all of these pieces before, but I don't think we've ever had them together.  This skirt is looking a lot shorter than last time she wore it.  I might need to measure her and see if she's grown recently!

I am not very good at doing hair, but I've been trying some new things lately.  I like how this half french braid turned out.  She calls it a "braid crown".

Teddy's wearing a Gap Playwear dino long sleeved tee, Peek plaid button-up and Gap Naval Academy blue denim.  I got the dino tee at Goodwill.  It's a size 18-24m, but it looked a little smaller than that to me.  I think it is actually a little too big, but it was pretty cute with this outfit anyway since it was layered.  Like he does most days, he wore his See Kai Run shoes when we went out.

"Here comes trouble!" was accurate today.  He took a short afternoon nap.  Boo.

Tillie's Choice

My sweet girl picked every part of her outfit today.  I suggested a Christmas tree shirt to match Ted, but she insisted on the Jumping Beans cookie tee, Circo petticoat, two gingerbread cookie hair clips and size 9 Circo sparkle shoes.  (She wears size 7.  Maybe 7.5.)  She kept going in the bathroom to check the mirror all morning.

Teddy's wearing a Circo tee that's a hand-me-down from Tillie.  It's not a Christmas shirt, but with a evergreen on it paired with a red plaid Peek shirt he looks pretty festive!  He's wearing Old Navy bootcut jeans.  I added brown Robeez boots when we went out.

Christmas Monster

Tillie insists that Teddy's Gap I Want Candy thermal tee is scary.  She actually started crying when we pretended to "get her".  Drama, we have it.  He's wearing it with a Peek button-down, Gap Naval Academy jeans and Circo dino slip-ons.

Last week at Goodwill we found this crewcuts  red wool dress.  It's a size 2, but Tillie LOVED it.  She tried it on in the store and I'm pretty sure she insisted on wearing it the next day.  It's WAY too short as a jumper, but it looks marginally okay with crewcuts cropped leggings and a black H&M tee.  Her black patent leather Nordstrom ballet flats are from the Rack.

His Father's Son

When I saw this Peek Appalachian Trail t-shirt at Nordstrom Rack yesterday I was super-excited.  Then I realized they only had it in 3-6 months.  It looked at little big, so I decided to take a chance.  Yep, my little guy can wear it!  I layered it over a Camp acorn thermal and Carter's jeans.

It says "Trail Blazer" on the back.

And "Maine to Georgia" on the sleeve.

Room to Grow

Teddy has always been on the smallish side.  His 6-12m pants are still falling off him, but are starting to get close to too short.  I bought him some 12-18m pants recently because the have adjustable waists.  They're still kind of ridiculous, but actually work better than the 6-12m pants.  I really like these gray Gap Naval Academy jeans.  I suspect he's going to wear them a lot this winter.  He's wearing them with a Peek button-down(Nordstrom Rack) and a Janie & Jack cardigan.  The Peek shirt is 12-18m too, but I just couldn't wait to put it on him.  I love plaid shirts on this guy.  The cardigan is 3-6m, but I think all Janie & Jack runs about a size big.  His loafers are Janie & Jack that I got for $1.50 at a garage sale.  They're darling, but they don't stay on.  We had to walk all the way back to the giant pumpkins at the Gardens to collect one of them today.

This crewcuts dress was one of the last things I bought for Tillie before I stopped working there.  It was the back-up "First Day of School Dress" if it was cold.  Tillie loves it and has been asking to wear it since the day I bought it home.  I bought a 4 because it fit okay and I figured I could get two years out of it.  Tillie's gotten picky lately about how fabrics feel when she's wearing them.  This one passes with flying colors.  The Stride Rite shoes I bought at a consignment sale last year.  They're 8.5 and she can still wear most 7s comfortably.  I suspect she's ready for a foot growth spurt.  She's been wearing 7s for a long time now!

I thought they looked so cute together in their matching blues and reds today.
