I tried using my brother's fancy camera to take pictures of my kids by the ocean. We had three problems.
1. I don't really know how to use his camera.
2. I didn't think about the lighting when I set them up.
3. Neither one of them had any interest in posing on the cold beach while wearing summer clothes.
I do like the clothing combinations I came up with though! I took these pictures on Tuesday.
Morning:
These are the outfits I brought specifically for pictures.
Tillie - yellow Old Navy top(new), white cropped Carter's denim(last summer)
Teddy - Gap Hamptons one-piece I bought when we were trying to get pregnant.
I really like the colors together and how they play off the blanket I got at an estate sale.
Late afternoon:
These are the outfits I pulled together when I saw Teddy's morning outfit was drooled on.
Tillie - off-white crewcuts tee and chambray skirt
Teddy - Chaps one-piece
Again, I like how the colors play together. I'll just have to try again at Lake Michigan this summer. It should(?) be easier when Teddy can sit up without the bumbo.

Summer Clothes for Church -- in Spring!
Today Teddy is wearing a Chaps one-piece that I couldn't resist at Kohl's. It was less than $2 and I bought it thinking maybe it would be warm enough for him to wear on spring break. I'm so glad it's warm enough to wear it now; it's just darling. He's such a little man.
Tillie is wearing a Cakewalk dress I got at a garage sale last fall. She didn't need it, but this color always looks so good on her. I caught her mid-twirl for this picture.

Sweet Baby
I think Teddy looks like such a sweet little baby in this Chaps outfit. Sometimes I dress him like a "little man", but his is all baby. I got this outfit at Kohl's for next to nothing using some Kohl's Cash.

Epiphany Sunday
Tillie is wearing a Tea Collection dress I got on clearance at Tip Toes in Holland. The Hush Puppies boots were from a tent sale in Rockford. The dress is a 3, so she'll wear it more next fall. I just wanted to try it out with the boots now. I liked the idea of this outfit better than how it looks in real life. The bows on the boots are a perfect match to the collar and waist, but they look a little more 'biker' than I expected. Oh well, they were cheap!
I bought this Chaps outfit for Teddy shortly after he was born. There were rare stacking coupon codes on Kohls.com. It was super-cheap and darling. Tiny shawl collar? Nautical buttons? Perfect. I love navy in January. I didn't have time to take a picture before we left home, so I used Tim's iPhone at church. (See how he's almost folding his hands?) Y'all are so lucky I don't have an iPhone. You'd be so sick of me posting instagram photos.

Winter White
My mom bought Tillie this Chaps outfit last year on clearance at Kohl's. It's a super-soft velour. Normally I don't go for velour, but this outfit read classic rather than trendy. I've layered it with a pink pointelle Carter's bodysuit.
It doesn't photograph well, but judging from the number of smiles she got at the mall today, I'm not the only one who thinks it looks cute on her.

Doctor Appointment
We have a redo outfit in less than a week. It's suppose to be 90* today and Tillie had her 15 month well baby check. I needed something cool and comfy for her to wear. Enter the spaghetti strapped Chaps sundress. I added the Gap Swim Shop jelly sandals for a little pop of color. As adorable as these shoes are, they're not very practical. They're size 4, but they're still a little big on her. Her toes always flip out of the straps.

Polling Day
Did you vote? Tillie did! (Okay, it was really me, but she came with me.) She wore a navy and white Chaps dress my mom bought her on clearance last summer at Kohl's. The red Goody clip picks up the floral print and adds a patriotic vibe to the outfit.
