Real Spring!

There are still crazy snow piles in our front yard, but today has a high of 63*!  We celebrated by wearing short sleeves.

Tillie is wearing a crewcuts sequin heart tee and K Bella Bambino ruffles with her pink mary jane TOMS.  You can tell she's gotten taller since last summer!

Ted is wearing a striped crewcuts tee with Gap Naval Academy skinny jeans and his JunkFood Star Wars slip-ons.  This is just such a "boy" outfit to me.  Ted is standing weird because his sunglasses fall off the moment he moves.  And I was worried about the 0-2 Gymboree glasses being too small.  They were only 60 cents, so I took the chance!

Hugs & Kisses!

I had to bribe Tillie for this one.  I promised her after we got home she could put on whatever she wanted to wear(but so far she's kept it on...).  Teddy was OVER THE MOON that he was wearing a matching shirt.  The shirts are Hanna Andersson.  Teddy's is an 80 I bought for him on facebook last year and Tillie's is a 90 I bought at Goodwill(for Ted, actually).  I think the shirts might be from different years because the color red and size of the XOXO are a little different.  Still, you better believe they got a lot of comments at the mall!

It's Almost Here.

We nearly ran out of time for pictures this morning, so I quickly snapped these before we left for preschool.  Not that most of my pictures are awesome, but these are not great.  You can still see what they're wearing though!

This short-sleeved Mini-Boden shirt hasn't seen much wear lately since it's so cold, but layered with a Janie & Jack cardigan it works.  Teddy loved wearing a "camera shirt!" and kept telling me to say "Cheese!" all day.  His skinny jeans are Gap Naval Academy and his shoes are TOMS.

I know.  He needs a haircut.  In a week or two I'll make an appointment.

Tomorrow Red &/or Pink week begins!  Tillie eases into it today with a Mini-Boden "heart" shirt I got at a garage sale.  It's a 5-6, but I'm pretty sure it was dried in a hot-hot dryer since it's not swimming on her like most MB 5-6s would be.  She's also wearing H&M heart-patch jeans.  I wish H&M would carry these again as these are getting closer to being outgrown.  I think we'll make it though the winter no problem, but I'd love a pair for next fall.  They have a slimmer leg than Mini-Boden pants tend to have -- and the price tag was much more friendly!  She wore her pink mary jane TOMS at school.

Girls and Boys

It was a lazy day today.  I've never been the mom who keeps her kids in pajamas all day, but I've been super-lazy about it this pregnancy.  We stayed home all day, but since we had friends over for dinner I made Tillie put clothes on after nap/rest time.  She's wearing a Strawberry Coral top my mom got her at DreamSpun.  I think it will be cuter in the summer as a tank, but I haven't decided what kind of bottoms to pair with it.  Maybe I should make shorties?  Today we layered it with a white Cherokee tee and Gap skinny jeans.  She picked out the pink Dreamspun bow to complete the girly look.  She calls this her "ballet tank top."

 
Teddy was happy to wear his "worker" shirt today.  He loves playing with his tool bench so he was all about this Gap Playtime Favorites shirt today.  These Gap Naval Academy jeans are size 12-18 months-- and they fit perfectly.  They were designed to be worn cuffed and we have them uncuffed.  This outfit has been in the diaper bag most of the fall/winter and I'm glad I remembered it because I think he might be wearing these jeans more often in the next few weeks.  He wore this same outfit last October, but we layered an H&M button-down under it today.

Sweaters

So, if you give Teddy an option on what to where, he picks a fire truck shirt or a "daddy" shirt.  He especially likes wearing sweater over button-downs.  This mama is not complaining!  Tillie's not a big sweater fan, so I'm enjoying dressing him in layers.

He's wearing a Gap Naval Academy sweater, crewcuts gingham short-sleeved button-down and Gap jeans.  He gets to stay home all day, so no shoes.  He told me "No picture!", so I had to be sneaky.

Handyman

I bought Teddy this Gap Playtime Favorites "Handyman" tee last year on clearance because I thought Tim would like it.  Teddy likes it too!  When he saw it he said, "Daddy tools!"  He's also wearing Gap Naval Academy jeans and Livie and Luca boots.  I LOVE the look of these boots, but they are so hard to get on Teddy.  They fit well once they're on, it's just hard to get his heel down in them.

Tillie is wearing an OshKosh dress and leggings set I got last year, I think at a garage sale, but maybe during half-price day of a consignment sale.  It was good she wore a dress with leggings today because they went out to play on the playground at school.  Monday she said she was cold, so I made sure to send her in Fuggs too.

Striped Sweaters and Apples

It's finally fall weather!  Teddy's wearing a Gap Naval Academy sweater from last year.  (12-18 months, people!)  The Gymboree shirt under the sweater is from the thrift store and it old enough to not be on Gymbohaven.  His jeans are Genuine Kids.  When he was walking into Tillie's school with his backpack on today he just looked so grown up!

It's Apple/Pumkpin/Leave week for Tillie at preschool, so we're rocking the outfit she wore to the apple orchard(Rhinestone Fun and Prep School) with a few changes.  Since it was pretty cool this morning we added a red crewcuts Caroline cardigan.  I recently discovered that she really needs to be wearing size 9, so she has her navy converse with crewcuts eyelet socks.  The pose was all on her own...

Zucchini and Pepper Shopping

We went to a small local farmer's market today to get some supplies to make kabobs tomorrow.  Teddy's wearing a Mini-Boden camera tee, Gap Naval Academy skinny jeans and red TOMS.  The jeans are from last winter, but not too surprisingly they fit much better now.  (They are suppose to be cuffed, he's not that much of a shorty!)  He has a lovely 2t wardrobe waiting for him, but 12-18m pants still fit him the best.  Tillie's wearing a Mini-Boden dress as a tunic and Gap skinny jeans(3t) with her sparkly TOMS.

I love it when they hold hands.

Sunday Church

Here are my two kiddos all ready for church today.  Tillie's wearing a Matilda Jane Hammond Bay Wendy dress.  Now, this is a dress she's had before in 18m.  Usually I don't repeat things that aren't "basics", but when I found this dress in a size 4 on craigslist last summer I couldn't resist.  It's too bad Teddy isn't a girl, the 18m would probably fit him perfectly right now!  (Okay, I don't really wish he was a girl, but how freakin' cute would it be to have sisters in matching Wendy dresses?  I rest my case.)  I layered an Old Navy sleeveless tank under the dress.  I think a layering piece just gives outfits a more "finished" look.  The neck is a little big on Tillie too, so this helps it look like it fits better.  I hope you're ready to see a lot of these yellow Salt-Waters.  She loves them and so do I.  We'll be finding ways to make them match as much as we can this summer, like we did today by matching them to the flowers on the 5th stripe of her dress.

Teddy's wearing a Gap Cabana plaid short sleeved shirt, Gap Naval Academy cargo chinos and cadet and orange See Kai Run shoes.  We tried a pair of darling seersucker Cherokee shoes on him, but at size 5 they're still way too big.  Hopefully they fit him sometime when it's the appropriate season!

Palm Sunday

My baby in a tie.  He looks like a mini-version of a high school basketball player on game day.  The Cherokee tie is from Target's after Christmas clearance, either 50-70% off.  The button-up is Teddy Lu and the cargos are Gap Naval Academy.

Tillie's wearing that other Tea outfit that I couldn't believe I hadn't posted on here before.  She's worn it a ton and it's decidedly shorter on her than when I first bought it.

Little Leprechauns

St. Patrick's Day on a Sunday really throws me.  My kids don't really have church clothes in kelly green.  So, we have a couple of random outfits.

Tillie's wearing a vintage Minnie by Lilly Pulitzer dress I got at  Goodwill last September.  She's also wearing crewcuts leggings, Old Navy shoes, Gymboree Batik Summer necklace and an an orange Crayola clip.  (We are Protestant, you know.)

It's too bad the Tiger wasn't actually orange, it would have been the perfect shirt for him today.

Grumpy Old Man Ted

He's my old man, all ready for church in his Cherokee cardigan, button-up and bowtie.  All of these items wee purchased 50-70% off at Target after Christmas.  It almost was his Easter outfit, until I got the itch to sew him some longalls.  He's also wearing Gap Naval Academy cargo chinos and See Kai Run shoes.

Up On The Barn

This might be my new photo shoot spot until it's warm enough to go outside (and Teddy decides to start walking).  They both think it's pretty funny, so they're good sports about the photos.   In fact, as soon as I put Tillie up there Teddy started calling out "Cheese!" from his chair.

Valentine's Day!

It's finally here!  You may have noticed that there was no post of their red and pink outfits yesterday.  That's because I had food poisoning and no one changed out of pajamas all day long.  (Something that I don't think ever's happened over here before.)  They were both wearing red, um, *cough* Christmas *cough* pajamas, so maybe that counts?  I might have at least Teddy wear the last outfit I was planning tomorrow.

Today!  Tillie's wearing a black H&M layering tee, red velvet Old Navy dress, Gap Valentines heart tights and black Stride Rite shoes.  I feel like this dress is already shorter than when she wore it at Christmas.  Crazy.

Tim even surprised her with a Valentine on her door this morning.

My little man Ted is wearing an H&M elbow-patch cardigan, The Children's Place gingham button-up, Gap Naval Academy jeans, Freycoo shoes and a sweet little heart bow tie that I made him.

The tie didn't turn out exactly how I planned, but since it was sewn entirely out of material from my stash it's just perfect for likely one day of wear.

Maybe sometime when I'm borrowing Philip's camera I'll dress them up again so I can get better pictures of their outfits.  I think they look so cute together today.  (Not that they don't every day, but, you know.)

Mr. Man & Girly-Girl

Today Teddy is rocking a heart tie bodysuit I made when Tillie was a baby.  I sold a few of them then, but this tie was crooked so I remade it for my friend.  This one I kept and it's never been worn, until I remembered it this weekend.  It worked well under a Gap Military Prep cardigan and Naval Academy skinny jeans for church today.

I love this guy.

It's Here!

Valentine's Week is upon us again.  Tillie and I (and maybe Teddy) will be wearing red and/or pink everyday until the 14th.  We started out today with a red Old Navy tee.  Tillie's had this shirt in every size since 18-24m.  I think got them for about 80¢ each.  This is the end of the road.  I'm sure buying a 4t shirt when she was 1 seemed ridiculous.  (Honestly, a 3t does too.  But hey, less than a dollar!)  Her jean skirt is also Old Navy and the heart tights are Gymboree Homecoming Kitty.  My mom got her the necklace.  It says "God is Love on the silver circle.

Teddy's wearing an outfit he's worn many times before, but it has red and matched Tillie. Tea cardigan, Peek, button-up and Gap Naval Acaemy jeans.  He stayed home all day so he never got shoes or socks.

A Warm Winter Day

The highest temperature I notice today was 56*, but it may have gotten slightly warmer.  I thought it would be a great day for Tillie to break out bare legs.  She was more than happy to comply!  She's wearing a Mini-Boden cake tee, navy crewcuts ruffle skirt, Gap eyelet socks and Morgan & Milo sparkle tennis shoes.  (It's gym day at school.)  She's worn all of these pieces before, but I don't think we've ever had them together.  This skirt is looking a lot shorter than last time she wore it.  I might need to measure her and see if she's grown recently!

I am not very good at doing hair, but I've been trying some new things lately.  I like how this half french braid turned out.  She calls it a "braid crown".

Teddy's wearing a Gap Playwear dino long sleeved tee, Peek plaid button-up and Gap Naval Academy blue denim.  I got the dino tee at Goodwill.  It's a size 18-24m, but it looked a little smaller than that to me.  I think it is actually a little too big, but it was pretty cute with this outfit anyway since it was layered.  Like he does most days, he wore his See Kai Run shoes when we went out.

"Here comes trouble!" was accurate today.  He took a short afternoon nap.  Boo.

Rah-Rah-Rah for Rocket

It's been a week of pajamas and cozy outfits over here due to a nasty cold.  Everyone's feeling better and I decided we were well enough to venture out today.  I kid you not, Teddy about jumped out of my arms with glee when I was opening the door to go outside.  He hadn't left the house in a whole week!

Navy in January

I love navy in the new year.  It probably has something to do with the new resort line that came out ever January.  It was nearly always navy and you could be sure that there would be some stripes.  After having worked there for eight years I think it's in my blood now.

Tillie's wearing a crewcuts cardigan and dress, Lands' End tee and pink shimmer Cherokee tights.  It's not the best outfit with this dress that she's worn, but the new shimmer tights were requested.  I found them at Target yesterday 70% off.  Sure, I'll let you have pink shimmer tights for $1.50.  She just got the necklace from the J.Crew Factory Store in Michigan City on our way home from Chicago.  (Hello, 40% off sale!)

Teddy's wearing a sweater from The Children's Place that my Aunt gave us when he was born.  I layered it over a chambray shirt from Old Navy(garage sale) and his Gap Naval Academy cargo chinos.  He looked so cute today.  Like a little man.  The sweater is size 18m and seems to run a little big, but I've never understood sizing at TCP.  They don't even have a 2t...

Unplanned Trip!

Yesterday morning I called my mom to see what time they were leaving for their trip to Chicago.  My dad ended up sick in the night so they weren't sure what they were going to do.  I offered to drive my mom and sister since the hotel was already paid for.  Tillie was more than happy to go to Ikea; she loves Småland.

For our Land of Nod and outlet mall shopping today she wore a crewcuts necklace tee as a tunic.  This is size 4-5 for next year, but I loved it so much I couldn't wait to have her wear it.  She's also wearing crewcuts  jeggings and Emu boots.
